Anyone Have This Happen?
This past weekend while on the Interstate at about 80MPH I had the top windshield garnish moulding fly off of my '06 Roadster. This is the silver moulding that goes from side to side at the top of the windshield and is about 4" wide.
Looked for it for an hour on the Interstate but to no avail, must have realy flown. It was not loose in anyway. Trying to get the dealer to warranty it, only 10,000miles on the car, but not having much luck. Dealer is telling me 10 days to get and almost $500.
Anyone else had this problem?

There are a few people that have had this problem. May be able to find the threads using search. From what I've read the dealers have replaced the part under warranty.

I actually had the exact same thing happen on my 05 Limited. I was able to go back and pick mine up couple of scratches but went right back on and never had the problem again. I have checked the one on my SRT very carfully to make sure it is on and secure. I have trouble beleaving they could even try to charge $500.00 do a wrecking yard search for one or for that price go chrome
I've seen several post about that happening to them. One guy thought he could get away with just going with the chrome trim accessories but it won't work. Those are just chrome covers that fit over the OEM trim.

Thanks
Just an update on the windshield garnish moulding. Went to the dealer again yesterday to have the moulding they ordered installed and the dealer informed me that the warranty was going to cover the replacement.
Sure was better than paying over $400 out of pocket.

It was not loose in any way I could tell and had never had any problems or indication of any problem or looseness. Top was up at the time and suddenly heard a brief wind noise and roar and then a pop and it was gone. All of that happened in less than a 20 to 30 second time period.
This sure does leave a bad taste in my mouth for the car... I recently bought an '05 SRT, I had the same thing happen... I was moving pretty fast, but even still... this is poor quality. I got a quote for 1 day and $432 from the dealer. In addition to this... it left a few scuff marks on my roof and a nice little bitty ding as well. Now I am paranoid when I do find one to re-install.... because I don't want it to happen again, I am thinking some SERIOUS adhesive double side tape in addition to the factory clips.
Was this directed at me? I am not aware of any rules I have broken, and if I have.. it was certainly unintentional... any chance you could be more specific? (Even if I am not the offender, at least the right person would know what happened).

Ignore the post....he just joined the forum and this is his only post. Unfortunately there are people out there who just have to much time on thier hands and don't know how to use it constructively.

Use the little Red Cross in the bottom left of his post to report it as Spam (I have already done it for that post)
I'm currently 1500 miles from my car and can't look at it, but I'm wondering if wind is getting underneth the leading edge of the molding and prying it off.
Would a thin bead of silicone on that edge elimiate this problem?
