Default New owner...

Just bought an 05 Roadster LTD, automatic, Inferno Red. Tough decision on color choice, I like several but nothing says sporty (to me) like a red convertible!

Very impressed with vehicle but have a question. I am 6'1" and drive with the seat all the way back like a lot do, I am sure. Out on the high way, the seat belt flutters at my shoulder and is somewhat annoying. My wife does not have the problem as she is shorter and the seat belt is supported by the seat back and not her shoulder. Any solutions? (and don't recommend that I always let her drive!)

Only had one key.... I guess I will have to go to dealer for key? I see some uncut on ebay but do not know about getting it cut and programing the remote to the vehicle.

I see a service manual CD on ebay. Anyone have any experience with it? Is it worth buying or what do you recommend for service manual. I like to do maintenance and repairs to my vehicles when at all possible.

Thanks again and GREAT forum. Thank you for making it available!!!

Congrats on your red xfire!

I'm 6'1" too and bought a leather & fleece shoulder pad that goes over the seatbelt. I bought it from another member here that had a lease return. But I'm sure you can find one at just about any auto parts store.

You will need to give your VIN # to the dealer and they will order a key for you.

I don't have the service manual. You can find lots of helpful information on this site.

Welcome Terry!

A perfect choice of vehicle hue and style.

This is a downloadable section by section Service Manual I have found very helpful:

Welcome to the forum. I am only 5'5" and have the same problem with the seatbelt. I had it on my 04 cpe too though. Haven't found a fix yet.Look in the SRT section for a downloadable manual.

Welcome to the forum, I am 6' and have not had the issue with the seatbelt, even at speed well over the psoted 65 limit. I have found this forum to be a wealth of information. Hope you enjoy the car as much as I do, I have only had 2 other cars that I actually just go out and drive - just to drive.

Car should have come with two keys. Strongarm your dealer. If he makes you pay, you have to order the key from him but there are instructions on this forum to program it. It's a simple 2-3 step process and will save you dealer charges.

Wow, you guys are quick! Checked out the manual on PDF and that is exactly the information that I am looking for!

Just ordered a windscreen from Windblox. I think that will help a lot.

I have lots to catch up on by reading the forum.

Thanks again,

Terry

I sold Inferno my seat belt pads when I turned in my Roadster. When I get home I'll post the site that sells them. They're beautifully made and are embroidered with "Roadster" in white. Nice touch.

http://www.roadstersolutions.com/ This is the site. Clik on Z3, then scroll down to shoulder pads and seat covers. Once there scroll down to the pic of the Roadster shoulder pads. Currently on sale for $50 pair.

In case you haven't noticed, there are a lot of folks here who just want to give you a big welcome and some help.

We are all addicts in the same support group.

Welcome.

roadster with a stick

BTW Inferno red is awesome with some Meguiars NXT or Turtle wax "ICE" on it.
Sorry Mike in Orange, but I just can't get over Ezer's IR roadster at the St Louis Wine Tour. The traitor used "ICE"

It was outstanding.

Solved my seat belt problem. Purchased a small fleece shoulder pad that is about 8" long from Walmart and when I fasten the seat belt, I push the pad back to where the belt retracts. It covers the belt from there to my shoulder and no more flutter.

Thanks for the replies!
