Default Tool to remove seat bolt?

Open to suggestions here. Riding back from Wisconsin last night, my cellphone fell between the seat and console. Couldn't quite reach it while driving. When I got to a rest stop, could no longer "touch" it. Moved the seat all the way forward this morning, jammed my head behind it, and I can see it on the track. The seat still moves full forward and back.

Near as I can tell the seat is held by 4 five-point star bolts (kinda reverse torex).

1 - Any idea what fits these bolts so I can go buy one?

2 - Any secrets to removing the seat? I'm hoping I can remove the bolts and move it enough to pry out the phone. I don't really care about the phone and would just leave it there but I'm afraid it may end up jamming the seat someday.

3 - If I move the seat off the mounts, is it relatively easy to re-align and rebolt? I'm afraid of something falling off the bottom and not being able to re-attach the seat.

Have you tried all manner of long reaching insturments to try to pry or push it out.......aka coat hanger, long screwdriver, stick?

Yes - I moved the seat all the way forward and reached in with a large screwdriver. The dang thing slid into a box channel towards the rear of the seat support. It fits in perfectly and I cannot get leverage to slide sideways (towards the console) and out.

I bought a set of "internal star sockets" at Autozone. Six point - not 5!

Questions remain - are there only four bolts and are there any tricks to getting the seat out and then back in. I did a search and read the suggestion about putting something over the plastic threshold so I don't scratch it. I wasn't planning to take the seat out entirely - just remove the bolts and tilt it so I can reach the freaking phone.

Not sure if there is enough metal in your phone, but you could always try the antenna magnet that you buy at auto stores. It has helped me recover so many things in the out of reach areas. Good luck!

You could try wrapping some duct tape around a long screwdriver or something with the sticky side out. I've had to do this more than once.

The duct tape thing works or maybe use a wad of gum.
If you're not planning on removing the whole seat, Gold, I'd go for it; loosen the bolts & see if you can tilt it enough to get to the phone.
Actually, I have a rag stuffed way down on the drivers seat facing the center console. I've had CD's darn near disappear down there, car keys, paperwork, change........thought 'to heck with it, I'm stuffing something down there'. It's like a black hole & trying to grab something as it slips further into the murky depths of our seats while driving is just too dam_ dangerous.

Mission accomplished. Had to remove the four bolts and tilt the seat. Read a suggestion to cover the plastic doorsill to prevent scratching - I did so. HOWEVER, if you are tilting the seat, be very careful of the metal "legs" hitting the center console. I learned the hard way and now have a slight scratch on the gray sidewall of the console. (This is scratch #3 on the whole car.)

I now have a gray washcloth folded and stuffed on the inside between the seat and the console. Good suggestion!

PS - The 4-piece internal star socket was only $7.99 at Autozone and E12 fits the seat bolts.

Hopefully you got an E10 in there so you can use it to change your belt.
