Out of storage for 30 minutes
Out of storage for 30 minutes
Saturday was dry, sunny, and in the 50s (a break in the dreary Michigan winter), so I went over to the storage place to run the XF's. The roadster started right up but the SRT6 just clicked. Pushed it out of the garage and jumped it. First time I noticed that it had a non-OEM battery (an Exide) instead of the white topped battery. Oh well - I suspect the previous owner either had to replace it with a cheapee or swapped batteries before he traded it. I have not started them since at least early January and it has been colder than heck here a few times.
I let both '05s warm up and then my son and I drove them around the storage center for about 15-20 minutes. I let my son drive the SRT6 which was a big kick for him. He noticed the difference between it and his 07 n/a right away, even though there really wasn't enough room to open it up.
Now they're back under cover in the garage and I'll just have to wait until early April to bring them out for good. <sigh>

Re: Out of storage for 30 minutes
I know the feeling - took mine out yesterday from the cold Cleveland storage and drove about 25 miles around - started right up...but have a minor oil leak that developed...first service for this awesome car...hopefully that goes well - good luck and happy roadstering...

Re: Out of storage for 30 minutes
Yesterday was beautiful, I took mine out too for the first time this year. It's been in storage since the start of November. Battery tender did its job and it started right up.
I put about 130 miles on it before I got it back in the garage.
I've got to move someplace where I can drive it all year round.
I've really grown very, very tired of North East Ohio winters.

Just curious...........Did you check the tailpipe first?
I got a late start yesterday, but I still managed to go out for a few "topless"!
Re: Out of storage for 30 minutes
We did the same yesterday. Pulled off the covers, backed them out of the garage, started right up, no problems. Went for a hour drive on some of the back roads. Top down on the Roadster and my Wife in her Coupe. Always makes peoples head turn to see two of them drive by.
It's like unwrapping a new car ever year. Always good to get them out again.

You guys are all about to bring yours out & I am getting ready to put mine in for the summer. Once it gets boiling hot down here it sucks in the rag top. Too hot for the top off & even if you suck it up, I don't want to sweat on the white seats. Plus it rains here every afternoon .... Its going to suck to have her all tucked away for the summer!
Re: Out of storage for 30 minutes
Just got my Roadster. Had some unseasonably warm weather at the start of the month so I left the insurance on, enjoyed driving it for a week or so. Then took the full insurance off and covered it up for another month. Well, that lasted a week. It's going to be in the 50s again this week, so screw it. Put the insurance back on today. Spring starts now!
