Default Windows Falling Out

Good Day to all on the forum. I just joined last night having discovered it yesterday.

Normally I wouldn't post a thread like this but I think we have a solution to real problem many of you are having

I am CEO of a company called GAHH Automotive and we manufacture convertible tops. Several weeks ago we became aware of the considerable problems X-Fire owners are having with their tops and the fact there are no replacement tops available. We went to work on the problem and discovered that there were 2 major issues in building an aftermarket top:
1) The X-Fire top has multiple plastic extrusions that would require >$25K in tooling to make
2) There is no aftermarket glass windows available

Not to be deterred we now have patterned and fitted an X-Fire replacement top. (see attached pictures). We are using a Nissan 350Z window glass that is about 2" smaller in height than the original and has a slightly differant shape. Also we require the old top be sent to our factory so we can re-use the original plactic extrusions.

Unlike the factory, our tops use a propriatry bonding process called UltraMaxx to hold the window into the top. This bond is so we good we warrranty it for as long as you own the vehicle.

The good news is that we can do a turnaround in as little as 1 week. The tops are made using the ORIGNAL German A5 canvas which we import directly from Germany. MSRP is $1,499.00

Just go to your local trim shop and ask them to contact GAHH Automotive for details.

Perhaps you could be a vendor on this forum.

Your product should be welcomed by quite a few folks here.

I can see from your pictures, that you have used a different process to attach the rear window.

The price seems to be near what I have seen for the factory replacement.

Without actually seeing the top in person, it is hard to judge quality. But my first impression is that it looks great

Thanks for posting,

I agree. As a roadster owner, I appreciate this.

Become a registered vendor?

I was unaware that the site has a vendors section. Who would I contact to see about becoming a "Registered Vendor"?

That link will explain the process. If you don't become a "vendor" I hope the powers that be will allow you to keep this post here for future reference.

Thanks for posting and welcome to our World!

Couple of questions just came to mind.

1. What colors are available?

2. Can we send the stock window for use in the new top? Looks like the 350z window is pretty restrictive as far as visibility goes.

Thanks!

Hi to all.
According to our records the only color top that was available was black. Doesn't sound correct but that is what we have. We can make the top in any one of 10 colors in original A5 canvas. Colors are Gray,Java,Ash,Space Gray,Indigo,Wine,Quartz,Blue,Lt. Mauve and of course black. We also have the new A5 Acoustic canvas from Haartz. This is a special canvas designed to reduce noise in the cabin. Standard now on all high end Euro convertibles. The acoustic is only available in black.
Right now we can't use the factory window because we don't have the special dies for our process. We would need to sell >100 tops per year in order to make that pay. I think there might be that many needed and if our top seems to be acceptable then we will go ahead and start tooling. It would take about 3 months to complete but in the meantime the 350Z window works well although you do give up a little visability.

You can got to www.gahh.com and look at the samples of A5 German Canvas. Click on Materials, then Canvas. The A5 colors are the ones at the top of the page.

GAHH: Convertible Tops, Auto Interiors, Quality Convertible Tops

WOW! Nice to have options!

Gonna have to figure out how to Photoshop the different colors on the car to see the results.

Yea, do yourself a favor and become a forum sponsor. I am VERY new here (as my sigline indicates) but I am sure YOU are gonna sell a LOT of these tops!

I HOPE it's a long time before I need one, but you never know! All ya gotta do to be successful in business is provide a quality product, offer good customer service and charge a fair price. It appears you are setting out to do all three.

Best of luck and hope you are still around when I need one!
