DMS Xfire- particulars? Mileage, year of your car, how many times you had to contact Chrysler?

The rear window of my 2008 Roadster just fell out today, New Years day...I have been reading the forum but have yet to find anything other than a do it yourself reglue. I have an extended warranty on mine that I got when I bought the car used. Anyone have any suggestions?

They are warrantied by Chrysler until 2015 (?), or 100,000 miles. Contact corporate. They got back to me at midnight when I asked about this.

The Loktite solution I tried last summer was only partially successful. The wind buffeting from the trip south to Florida was sufficient to loosen a portion of the window. My extended warranty was of no help when requested from my Dealer.
It will be interesting to find out if Chrysler is extending replacement past the 2005 model year. Mine is a 2008 Florida delivery car.
Resuts TBD.

I have TWO letters from Chrysler telling me both of my '05's have 100,000 miles or 10 years of warranty on the top window.
I never even contacted them, they sent the letters on their own. I WISH my window would fall out, so I could get a new top!

I can't see how they could deny a 2008 failure, based on what they have voluntarily (after some yelling and screaming by other owners) done.

Thanks for the update pizzaguy. I had not seen anyone other than 05 owners from southern state deliveries get any satisfaction in the previous posts.
I will make the call and report back the results.

I have to believe that as long as your car does not have more than 100,000, the warranty is good. That's what I am told, anyway.

Bought a 05 roadster a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't going to buy it because of the sloppy silicon repair job done at a fiat dealer (chrysler) believe it or not. Because of this forum I had them check the VIN warranty coverage and there it was!

Their chrysler dealer checked it out and ordered my new top today. Thanks

The only announced extended warranty offered by Chrysler is for the 2005 model year. As far as I have been able to determine, that is the only year they have a formal letter for. I have not heard much about the 06 - 08 model years. Mine is an 08.

The really good news is that according to my Chrysler claims advisor, it appears I will be getting the approval today for a new top and the dealer tells me that they can have one in just a day.

I will post the happy news once I get the full approval.

I would think it would be covered by your extended warranty? Is that what is covering your new top installation.

There is NO extended warranty on anything but the 2005 Crossfires. All other model years with top problems have to go thru Chrysler for each occurrance.

Is the W-31 extended warranty for 2005 roadster rearwindows still just for those 7 southern states, or has it been extended to all 50 states?

W-31? I've had of seen that, I'm sure, but it doesn't cover cars that have more than 100,000 miles, I would think.

lildaddym - My 2005 Crossfire only has 43,000 miles. Purchased new end of summer in 2006, so it is still under factory warranty for drive train until end of August.

I was just mentioning that...I couldn't get mine covered under the X31 with just over 100,000...103,800 to be exact. Then, I was told that there had been too many owners...

I have had a terrible time dealing with Chrysler for my rear window seperation. The first person I had would not call me back and the case was dropped. The second person didn't call me back twice and than when I got him he lied and said the dealer said I told him I knew the window was seperating when I bought it; wrong. They will not provide me good will. Last Chrysler product I will purchase.

Try calling Chrysler at this number 800-992-1997. Be nice and polite and explain you issue. It took a total of 4 days to get this issue resolved. Its a knows problem and they will stand behind the car. It helps to have a good dealer but the Chrysler Corp should replace it for you.

I also had a good response from Chrysler. I don't need the window yet, but their response was promising.

I have been dealing with Chrysler since Oct 2012. The first rep wouldn't call back and the case closed. Called and was given another rep and the last 2 weeks he did not call back twice. Caught him today and he said case dropped because they cpild not reach me. LIE! Than said he would reopen case. THAN SAID cHRYSLER WILL NOT FIX IT AND THERE IS NO GOOD WILL? I asked why and was told I was the second owner. I said so what there is an extende warranty on the car. Than he said no because I told the dealer that I knew of the seperation before I bought it. LIE! He had a supervisor call me and the attitude immediately was no. I wqas given many reasons why they don't cover some tops but would not say why not mine? I have had several Chryslers but this is the last one. I will tell the world through the internet of their lack of communication with me and the end result. Ohio Jim
