To all of you thinking about getting this product; GET IN LINE!
FP and I are Beta testers for Rudy; while I can't comment for FP this one is a BIG thumbs up
! Rudy installed my unit yesterday and used my install to document the installation for all of you. The entire thing took less than an hour even with taking the time to take pictures and notes. If you can soldier and tell the difference between the color of wires you can install this product.
As for how it works; its great! I am happy with the unit and the new "one touch" window up and down features. Rudy, being the perfectionist that he is wanted to tweak the programming a bit but for me everything works and is good.
It is pretty cool to be able to hit the button to drop the top, raise it and or the windows and be able to actually close the door and put on my seat belt without holding the darned button down. I highly recomend this product.
While Rudy was at it I told him that one of the other pet peeves I have with this car is the mirror switch. Every other car I have had with power mirrors had a dead position for the mirror control (center that doesn't change the mirrors). I sometimes inadvertently bump the switch and screw up my mirror. Well Rudy to the rescue, I don't know what he did but I now have a center dead position on my switch and no more accidental repositioning of the mirrors. Really COOL
!
Rudy you ROCK! Thanks for all your help and the great product. I will keep the group up to date with any further information as time goes on.
Like I said above; get in line for this one it is a winner!
Stay safe...
Respectfully,
Paul (MisterTaz)

OK so I said I would update you all as things progressed. I just didn't think it would be so soon!
As I said in my last post Rudy (the Perfectionist) wanted to tweak the programming on the one touch module (He wasn't happy with the length of time you had to hold the switch down to initiate the top going down). So he made his adjustments to the programming and re-flashed a new unit and overnighted it to me!
I timed myself and I swapped the units in less than five minutes. Rudy you have the timing perfect! the amount of time required is about a second plus. It feels like the perfect amount of time; long enough to know you are requesting the top down but not much more than cracking the window open while at speed.
The Perfectionist wins out!
Great job and great customer support! I love our vendors!
Did I mention that you guys need to get on the list for this?
I got mine! (He-He)
Stay safe...
PS. Rudy the original unit will be shipping out in the AM ~ thanks Bud!

I can't wait for this. I'm already on the list, so just waiting for the final mods and the "production run".
I'd be interested in understanding how to put the "dead zone" into my mirror switch as well!!!

Testing is a necessary evil my friend. We want to make sure these are working perfect and we don't have any problems sneak up on us after anyone has theirs installed. Lets just say we are on the home stretch and I'm hoping to make these available by the end of next week.

Wow I am amazed that folks have an issue with the price. This seems like a value to me considering what any mod costs for this car. Also given the fact of the very few vendors that are actually developing anything for this incredibly limited market.
Given the new functionality and convenience that I have and the fact that this is manufactured here in the US and not overseas (thanks for keeping jobs here) I would have payed more than a hundred dollars. Rudy I think the price is fair given the amount of development I know you have put into this.
Folks have to realize first you can't go to an auto parts store and pick the components up off the shelf. The other thing to consider is the amount of information that is publicly available on the electrical system in these cars. Something like this really takes a lot of R&D.
This really isn't some fly by night company or product development. Just my opinion but I for one hope that Rudy and our other vendors keep developing products for our cars. Rudy great product; please keep up the good work.

This upgrade to make the window go up with one touch for the Mini Cooper is closer to $180, and that's the windows only. This one does the windows as well as the top.
I think the price for this upgrade is actually very reasonable.

I may have to rethink how annoying holding that darn button is.
I'm still in!
Doug
Estimating $50 to $60 and hitting $70 + shipping is VERY good. Especially for a small company. Everyone has to decide where there break point is, if $10 - $20 more is it...that is your choice. Good luck with the product Rudy.
I dont think I will buy one though...

You know what...... Color me pink, and slap me silly.
Now that I have had time to think about it, I was wrong to make any remark about the price. Ohhhh..... and holding down that darn button IS TOO ANNOYING!
I try to be helpful and offer advice when I can, but I will also call someone out when they are off base or out of line. Thanks for calling me out.
