Default Convertible Top sticking on the way down

My top was working perfectly . Now when I put the top down , everything works fine until it comes time for the front part with the latch to go down.It used to be that I could push up with gentle upwards pressure to help the top go down. Now even with help the top sticks at 45 degrees , I then really have to push up very hard which causes a loud pop and then the top will go down normally. Going back up is not a problem.
I am just worried that maybe this will cause some damage.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like an adjustment is needed. Hope you can find a good shop.

Saw a clip on Motorweek where they recommended occasionally lubricating the hinges on power ragtops.

Procedure was to stop the top halfway through it's cycle and then dab white lithium grease on the hinges with a cotton swab.

The loud pop you're hearing indicates it may be something more than sticky hinges, but this may be worth a try before taking it in somewhere.

Good luck..........
