I'm new to the crossfire forum group so I hope I'm doing this correctly.

I have an 05 crossfire convertible with a loose inside rearview mirror. I'm trying to tighten it up, the problem is I can't see up in the small hole. So far I've tried some small allen wrenches and a small phillips screwdriver. Anyone have some suggestions?

I cannot find the screw, it's a bit dark in the garage, where is it?

 

Can't find a screw 'cause there isn't one! The hole is so the mirror can be turned 45 degrees to be removed.

 

Ya I'm lost at how to fix it, think I'm going to hit the dealer.

 

I have the same problem with a loose rearview mirror. What was the solution?

 

The mount for the mirror is glued to the glass, then the mirror attaches by fitting the mirror base over the mount, then rotating the base 90 degrees. There are clips in the base that hold on to tabs on the mount, but it is by spring pressure only - you could try bending the clips in the base slightly to tighten their 'grip' and re-mounting the mirror. This only will help if the mirror is loose at the base - if it is loose at the adjustment swivel, I don't remember seeing any way of tightening that part up.

Had same loose interior mirror. Swivel ball was not the prob. Spring clip inside the mount was loose. Bent clip to solve prob. Hole in mount is NOT access to a set screw. It is used to rotate mount 90 deg to remove mount. Spring clip is held w/ a T20 torx screw. For ease of "adjustment" i.e. bending, remove clip. Used locking needle nose pliers to bend wings of clip toward center. Test fit until clip is snug. Then reattach clip to mount. Careful, mount looks like pot metal. May be easy to crossthread T20 screw. When clip is snug U will need a rod (I used shaft of a hex wrench) to rotate the mount/mirror into position.

 

Yep, works like a charm thank-you! I love this Forum. I had an annoying loose mirror, and was looking for the Torx or Allen Key in the hole to tighten. I didn't take out the clip, just used a wide set of pliers and gave both sides of the clip a little bend, used an allen key in the hole to help twist the mirror back on.

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures. Just carefully read all the posts. The "arm" that the mirror is attached to, twists onto a "socket" that's attached to the windshield. So...take a shaft, that will fit into the hole at the bottom of that "arm", ( i used a long allen key) and turn the whole mirror assembly 90 degrees and the assembly will pop off the windshield. I turned mine to the right, and you will have to turn the mirror as you do this since it will hang up on the roof. I assume you could turn it to the left as well. Then when the mirror is off, you will see inside the "arm" there is a metal clip, held in with a Torx screw. I didn't take the clip out. I simply gently bent the 2 metal tabs down a bit with a pair of pliers. Then, hold the mirror firmly and flush over the "socket" on the windshield at the 90 (sideways angle) and then with your shaft, twist it back on. Very simple and effective, just take your time and look everything over, before you start. Hope it helps!
