We got about a foot here in KCK. Put the 08 in mother-in-laws garage ahead of the storm & took her 4-Runner for a few days...it eats gas, but man will it go thru deep snow!!

Not even the A6 with quattro liked this storm. Normally it goes through anything: even when interstates are closed due to white-out, I've cruised through it. We had 13-15" in Holland MI with > 2' drifts. No plows the first day. I cleared my driveway and backed the A6 into the street and took off. Made it a quarter mile before I had to slow down for an intersection and then discovered there was ice under the unplowed snow. Zero traction. Trudged home for a shovel, cleared out the tire tracks (twice), and was able to rock her out and headed back home. The Crossfires, huddled and covered in their corner of the garage, did not even wake up.

My new truck did just fine....since they didn't plow for two days I took all my boat towable toys hookedem up with the bungee tow cord and pulled all the kids around the block in 4 high...just kept it going since no one else could get around the block(or was smarter then me to try)
By the end of the first day all the people on my block were out taking turns.

Was really cool we set up snowblowers to rain snow down on anyone on the towable.....Nuttin like a three person inflatable being yanked down the street for hours...Then in the corners springing out into the lawns on the sides to go down the next block..burned thru 1/2 of a 36 gallon tank.
Oh and since I towed everyones kids they all cleaned my driveway at the end after the plows finally came.
Everyone keeps talking about hearing everyone laughing echoing off the snow and then weee around the corner we come again had to be about 50 adults and 50 kids I towed.

K.K.

Who carries your insurance?

Sonds like a world of fun. Wish we could do that here. Likely I would get arrested.

We woke up to 6+ inches of snow plus another 2 inches fell throughout the day. That was on top of the 1" of ice on the roads.

It wasn't a good day for the crews preparing for the Superbowl either:

Don't get me started. lol This **** started the day the Steelers and Packers arrived. They brought it with them! lol

For the first time in history, D/FW has snow plows. TXDot brought a reported 72 of them here from west Texas to clear the streets for the "big game". We have around 150,000 visitors in town to accommodate this weekend.

Two days later, the surface streets here are still only mostly clear. If there are two lanes, chances are the right lane isn't quite clear yet. They were working on that today. Low temps in the single digits mean there are a lot of icy, snow packed, slick spots. Lots of morons crashing - mostly caused by people slamming on their brakes because they just noticed a patch of ice or snow. ... because they've only lived here 30 years and have never seen snow or ice before!

State Farm....my agent takes me out to dinner and drinks once a year!

And yes its amazing the idiots out there...act like they never seen snow before!

Used to live in irving back in the day worked at DFW at Braniff.
My Aunt still lives there...she is laughing at how no one knows how to drive in the snow in texas...She sends me photos every a.m. of the mess down there.Still don't compare to the 20" we have.
And if ya didn't have the superbowl ya'll be screwed cause Jerry would have never bitched ta get ya dug out with out it.

Amazing what a man with alot of money can get done in Texas, mean while back here in brokeillinois we raise taxes and still can't dig out after 4 days and counting.
Wife put in for a transfer we are so out of here as soon as we can!
