Default Beep Beep

A couple of times I've been going along at a reasonable speed when I've heard a small "beep beep" noise. Is this the noise the wing makes if its not up at high speed? If it is I'm puzzled as it was up at the time. If not this anyone got any ideas? Warning me I'm getting 10mpg maybe

Sorry uk humour . It does 25/6 most of the time and about 30 on a run. I used to have a car that told you what you were doing right at that moment and it was a 1.8ltr turbo that got down to 5mpg if pushed hard - which was what I was doing when the mystery beep beep sounded

I would hazard a guess that the Road Runner was trying to over take you.

The car is supposed to make a noise at some speed, which I do not know, that tells you that the spoiler is down and should be up. It's for safety reasons.

I had a 1968 Dodge Charger that had a bad horn relay. The horn would beep every time I hit a small bump in the roar. If I tapped on the relay the horn would beep......

Check that the roof is properly located in its up or down position as this will beep above 9mph if not.

This is more like above 90 and the spoiler was up. Its not the horn just a little beep beep inside the car.

Definetly something to do with the spoiler. Its up but bleeps at over 90 but tonight it wouldn't go down either. When I stopped it worked from the manual button so I'll see what happens tomorrow. Looks like an iffy switch maybe?

I also was hearing the beep, but in my case it was my own fault.

When I drive my manual, out of habit, no matter what the speed, my hand usually is resting on the Shifter, and my arm sits on the Console (and the Top Up/Down Button is under my forearm)

And when my arm hits that button just the right way, when traveling at normal speeds, like clock work, it's beeping...

If your 90 translates to the U.S. 75 mph when the beeping starts than your computer has been programmed to give you this warning beep from 90 & above. You'll need someone with a DRBIII to pull up your personal settings to see if the speed warning beep is activated or not. If so they can de-activate at the same time & you'll never hear this beep unless it is re-activated thru the DRBIII. One of the little querks about our cars. There is no other speed that this beep can be set to start alarming you. It is either on (75 mph) or off no beep ever. The only problem is it will cost you an hour labor charge if you don't have access to the DRBIII. Good Luck.

I'm not sure I understand you. Do you mean in the US you'res are set to beep at 75 if the spoiler stays down? This is definetly at 90mph. I've played around and it goes off at 89 and starts again, and keeps going above 90. Anyway tonight I tried putting the spoiler up and down at low speed (10) and it behaved itself perfectly so maybe just a bit of dirt on a switch? Hopefully
Oh and I must say all of this occurs on my private track of course!

Neither of mine beep at high speeds. And I've had the roadster to 140 and the SRT6 to 155 (on my private track). My Audi A6 does have a setting for a speed alarm, but I've never used it.

Then maybe as stated earlier the beep is to do with the roof latch switch. Up = problem, down = no problem.

I am pretty sure the alarm for the spoiler is 90mph..... with the little quirks you are getting... it may be your battery getting a little weak.... how old is it???

Batteries is an original 2004 so I've finally given in and got a new one coming - £45. Beep tonight at 25mph but not at 90 . It just stopped on its own. I'll see what the new battery does but I have to say I'm pretty doubtful. The old one shows full charge even after 2 weeks in the winter and cranks the engine easily, but so many people reckon its a problem so here goes. Also service and mot time next week so I'll see if any codes have appeared.
