Default Ebay Luggage Scam

BEWARE!

The Picture is photoshopped.

The bags fit a coupe, but won't set in a Roadster trunk like that. If the divider is up, ONE bag will fit, but the other two won't

CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE 3-PC CUSTOM FITTED LUGGAGE BAGS NEW - eBay (item 170380095004 end time Mar-30-11 08:39:35 PDT)

I got these for a birthday gift, she bought them 2-19-11, so we are beyond the 30 day return window (my birthday was Thursday).

Another eBay scam - I'll let you all know what happens when she contacts them.

Not only that, but the EBAY page list the "but it now" price at $149.99, while the company web page at
Chrysler Crossfire Convertible Custom Fitted Luggage Bags Accessories \
lists the same thing at $129.99 .........
BTW, my wife also bought me a set of this luggage 2 months ago, and as you say - it won't all fit with the top down.

One of the reasons that whenever I get anything through eBay, I hold off on giving my feedback "until" I am completely satisfied. This is the only ammunition a buyer holds, other than the 30 day thingy. I hope they will rectify this to your satisfaction. If they won't do anything, and it was me, I'd "buy" another set, and then shootem down, with a blistering feedback. But that's just me ....... I'd find some use for the luggage, even it was to give as gifts......... just my $.02 Good Luck

BTW ...... Happy Post Birthday

They are totally different from the original Crossfire luggage.

Their response:

Not sure why it would not fit - we've sold hundreds. But we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I'll process the refund and return for you over Ebay. When you make the return, please send the package via USPS parcel post WITH delivery confirmation to the following address:

If I get time, I'll take a REAL picture of it and post it here. They'd work good in a Coupe - but there is NO WAY to get these in a Roadster with the divider extended for top-down operation.

Interesting. I'm not in the market for luggage but have seen them several times on Ebay.

Thanks for the warning!

I use a couple of soft duffles for a weekend trip in my roadster and there's room to spare. And, they were a lot cheaper than $149.

The original luggage won't fit in the trunk with the top down either. So, what's new?

Goldwing,

Go look at the ad. They photoshopped it to make it LOOK like it would fit.

Here is one bag:

They are willing to take the bags back, but she is out shipping both ways.

AGAIN, go look at the AD - they photoshopped it to make you think you were buying custom Roadster luggage (which WAS available at one time, a couple had it at the fall 09 Dragon, I saw it).

Now, it would fit in a Coupe well!

You ARE right: Just another eBay scam - no big deal.

Photoshop, I doubt it. They cheated the height of the bags by probably filling them with foam peanuts to make them look like they fit.

Either way, it looks like deceptive advertising to me.

My wife got me a set for Fathers Day last year, but I never even tried to see if they would fit. It seemed like a lot of money to spend for 3 duffel bags. Buy 3 cheap ones that will fit and go to an embroidery shop.

with ebay it doesnt matter that the seller only offers a 30 return, with ebay you can file a complaint up til 45 days and even sometimes they will cover shipping its call ebays buyer protection, dont waste your time with the seller just file a complaint and you will get a Full refund back.

Please DON'T do that. As an eBay seller, this is one of the things I cannot stand. Every seller knows that at any point, the buyer can simply throw a fit, run to eBay, and eBay will do nothing but refund all the money regardless if its warranted or not. Work with the seller, explain that you can't get the bags to do what they were described, and ask that they arrange shipping. If they don't, explain you're going to file a claim.

Don't just run right the eBay's Protection. Keep your wits and don't be that guy.

My wife and I have a Samsonite bag that measures 24" High, 14" Wide & 10" Deep and fits perfectly in the truck with the divider in place so the top will stow. Fits like it's made for the roadster. More than enough room for a weekend trip.

Interesting that someone posted that the original Crossfire luggage doesn't fit either. I always figured that was the point in having the original luggage. Made to fit so you could put the top down.
