SLK wind screen
There has been talk regarding a windscreen behind the seats to cut down on the wind inside the cabin of our roadsters. I feel it is less than any other drop top I've owned, however my wife was wondering if the screen she saw on a Mercedes SLK would fit our car. It wraps the roll bars I guess. Any thoughts? Maybe I'll take a wonder down to the local dealer and take a gander. Someone offers a clear style wind screen but I don't remember what car I saw it on.
Already tried, not even close. As to wind in the cockpit, XFire is not very good, have in the Family S2000, Boxer S and Z3, XFire is about the same as the Z3.
Wind and creaky center console are the major items so far. Will have the dealer handle the console.
dmg
White, autostick, Pleasanton, ca.

Yes
The airflow along the windows (when up) spills back into the cockpit via the space between the head rest (much like a vortex). The wind screen breaks the effect, reduces the constant air flow on the back of the neck, also helps with A/C and Heat.

I too did some research and found that a company that makes them is almost ready to release them for retail. Here is what the SLK screen looks like. I would presume the Crossfire's would be similar.
Here is where I found them:

As soon as they contact me I will post that info here on the Forum.

I thought the whole point of a roadster was so that you could experience the wind blowing through your hair. If you put your windows up and install a windscreen behind you, haven't you kind of defeated the purpose?
Maybe you should have gone with the coupe if you don't like wind
The only convertables I've ridden in are Jeeps... top down, windows off, doors removed. Yeah you get ALOT of wind noise, but thats the point!
That's just my opinion of course.

Big difference between a coupe and a drop top with a windscreen. I love the wind and feeling of the great outdoors too, but on those very long road trips it (the wind) seems to wear me out.
I have had a number of jeep CJ's and, like you, I love that feeling as well. In fact my wife has been wanting to pick up a open top jeep or better yet an H1 with a canvas top. We'll need to sell a few more flowers for that to happen!!

I'll find a nice Crossfire ball cap for the wife instead to keep her hair in place.
I've already prepared for mine. What little hair I had left, I shaved off.
I just won't be able to have the wind blowing thru my hair.
Seriously though, I thought about the windscreen for when the temperature gets down into the low 60's and lower. But if it doesn't make a significant difference I'm not going to spend the money.
