Saying Goodbye
Final trip with my Roadster today - to the BMW dealership to trade it in
. Need some more seats and doors I'm afraid so its got to go, being replaced by a 123D. I've enjoyed driving the XF - especially with the roof down (drives much better) and for all its quirks its been reliable and other than depreciation not too expensive to run, but it was do for a service, MOT, rear tyres etc and their offer was just about good enough (think lowish private sale) to tempt me. So I'm going from 1 car that does 0-60 in 6.8 and 150mph with 2 seats and no roof, that does 23mpg to a 5 seat, 5 door car with a roof and a boot(!) that does 0-60 in 7secs and 148mph but does 46mpg! That said the XF is a pretty car and the 1 series is one of the ugliest on the road
but I can't see the outside when I'm driving it
.
Thanks for all and any help I've received the last couple of years.

Good luck to you. Aren't there good MPG vehicles that aren't ugly (in your words)? I know the price of fuel is insane in the UK & MPG is really important but I think you have to be able to have some pride in your ride.

Don't know how much diesel is in Ohio but over here its $8.77/US gal.
and unleaded is a bit cheaper. Got a full tank with the new car so thats useful. At least people have stopped panicking and quequing up and running all the juice out like earlier this week.
XF really did do between 23 and 30mpg depending where I was going - commuting to work gave the 23
. As I said before I just need more seats so it had to go - fuel consumption is a bonus
. Ugliness is free
