Question When to order?

OK you roadster owners, I want to order a new roadster for arrival in NY April '05. When do you think it should be ordered? I've heard 12-16 weeks, that can be early Dec. '04 or early Jan. '05. What do you all think? Anything I should know or include at the time of order? I'm ordering Black with the Black and Cedar interior, with an autostick. Really thought I'd want the 6 spd. till I drove them both and enjoyed the auto more. What do you all think?

Good Luck, I am going through that process now. I ordered a XF Roadster on August 27, the car was built and shipped to the states (takes 10 days) and arrived on October 14th in Baltimore, Md. It spends a few days there clearing customs and reattaching some parts and then loaded on a truck to ship to your dealership. Mine is FINALLY scheduled to hit the dealership in SE Virginia on November 1st. There is a toll free number on the Chrysler site you can call and receive status on your vehicle. Be aware, they may not be all knowing and may possibly receive different status everytime you call back. Just try to be patient, sooner or later it will show up. To make a long story short, it took mine about 2 months from order date to arrival. Good luck with yours.

Where in NY are you located. The reason I am asking, I was at my dealer about 10 days agoe and they had 3 Roadster Limiteds on there lot. There was 1 Graphite /Dk. Slate Grey & Lt. Slate Grey interior with AutoStick, 1 Classic Yellow/6spd/ Dk Grey Slate & Cool Vanilla Interior and 1 Pearl Black/Dk. Slate Grey & Cedar interior with AutoStick. All the mentioned have "NAV" radios. Not really sure if they are still there, but here is the dealers info:

Bay Shore Chrysler Jeep
1350 Sunrise Highway
Bay Shore, NY 11706
631-666-2700

ask for Howard Koppel

Hope the info helps.

I'm in Dix Hills and haven't yet visited Bay Shore Chrysler. I don't want the car till April so what they have on the lot now really won't help me for than but I would like to see the yellow as its the only color I haven't seen yet. Your color combination is beautiful but as fanatic about cars as I am and given the fact that this car will only be driven in the summer and in nice weather, I still wouldn't attempt to keep that white interior clean. I'll give Bay Shore a call though and see if they still have the yellow to take a look at. Thanks for the heads up.

I ordered my car on Sept 27th, and it is being shipped today(Oct 29th) from Germany. With transport time and customs, will take about 2-3 wks before it arrives at my dealer in Philly. I was told in the summer it was a 12-16 wk lead time, but they finished my car at the factory in about 4. They seem to have the system down pretty good now and are putting orders through rather quickly. Dont rush into it, take your time and order it the way you want. I had dealers pushing lot cars on me, but I just started a new job and wanted to wait a few weeks while on order to save a down payment. Esp since your in NY, with the winter coming near, wait til the spring when you can really enjoy it. I know I wont be able to enjoy mine all winter as much as i'd like to so i'm holding onto my other car until March/April. And i know i wont get a real good top down day til it warms back up then too. Good luck with it.

This has nothing to do with the order. Your choice is great. I also have a Black & Cedar Auto-Stick. Great combo! Get is Chipped by Upsolute and put K&N filters on it. You will love it.
