Default Grill mod after installing Needswings CAI

Has anybody had to trim or mod the grill to get a better fit after installing a CAI from Needswings?

No modification to the grille required.

Interesting. I put on the xstream filter and the grill is hitting on the passenger side, I got it on but it took a little finesse.

There is a little wiggle room with these. I installed larger Edelbrock filters and still have room. You can work the aluminum elbows in a bit farther and angle the filters down a bit, there should be enough room that you won't have to mess up your grill/

Thanks I will have to try that. I looked at it again last night and it seems that it is hi in the back and it is not as close to the passenger side heat sheild as it is in the pics. Back to the drawing board and a few more cuts and scrapes.

Well with a little wiggle and waggle, few choice words, a six pack, and some love I finally got it all to fit properly. Thanks for the help and advice.

Hmmmm possible to hydrolock motor with filters right there if driving in heavy rain? I just installed my DCAI this past weekend and it dawned on me. Probably more so if the grille is off.

So as long as your hood isn't submerged in water?

Yeah.. I wouldn't go crossing creeks in it.. LOL. It was a low spot in the road and he pretty much drowned it.

I've been through some frog stranglers and some flurd toaters with mine, no issues.
I believe the forward facing and top portions do get wet, but the bottom and backside stay
dry enough to allow sufficient air supply.

I put a pre-filter on mine that is waterproof but still allows for a good, steady airflow.

You won't need the pre filters but if it gives you peace of mind, then it works. I have been running mine since the dual came out. Never had a problem. I have plenty of room with my new, made in England grilles....

I use the pre-filters more for extended service life(cleaning & re-oiling)than trying to keep water out. The black is also great at camouflaging the filters through the grill.

Not by choice, I assure you. In the story I related, this actually occurred on the trip back from Auburn to Lineville ( about 65 miles ) where I had been to get Max's ( maxcichon ) help on installing the CAI.
So it immediately got tested. This was a sudden storm on US 431 where I actually had to pull over as the wipers couldn't keep up.

Now that all that is completed, I will get the TCU tuned. Need to start saving my pennies again!

I have the needswings supercooler and I'm having trouble getting it to fit, does anyone know how to troubleshoot this? The new heat exchanger takes up much more space so I can't get the grill on
