Default Top operational noise

Top makes clunking sound at start of operation as if something is overriding/sticking. Any ideas? Don't want to keep operating in this condition.

Going up or down ?
Before the tonneau cover opens ?
During tonneau cover opening ?
During rear bow movement ?
During top movement ?
During tonneau cover closing ?
After tonneau cover closes ?

Might be....I'll have to sit and listen closer. Did not do this last year and car has been laid up all winter , so ? Thank you for the prompt reply. RR

no

Appears to be with bow movement.....not tonneau....and at start. Will have to sit and listen closer to pinpoint. Facing forward with noise muffled in back hard to locate. Noisy release latch ? I need more investigation. Thank you for the prompt reply. RR

My bow latch makes some noise, the tonneau latch however makes more than the bow.
I greased them up with white moly and they got a LOT happier.

That's what I was thinking. When mine first releases it makes a pop noise when the latch unhooks. White grease will make it better.

I was thinking of doing that too, so can you be more specific as to where the grease should be applied??

Used the suggestion of 'Simple First " and tried the white grease on the latches. Noticeable improvement with a loud release 'click' instead of the slightly hesitant 'clunk I was hearing . Thanks to all who jumped in to assist. RR
