Talking Starting Issue

This may or may not be a problem .. 2006 convertible roadster.
Turn the key to start and it seems as if the starter does an overrun, before the engine begins
to run.. Does not happen all the time. It cranks and when she is running, sounds and runs
superb. It's just at that initial key turn to start the engine that the starter seems to do a
few extra turns right at the second the engine begins to run..
Anyone else experience this ? Mileage on the car is 6880. No other issues. Any help or
insight as to what this is ? What I call, overrun of the starter ?
AND in the Raleigh N.C. area, can someone recommend a Mechanic who knows and worked
on these in the day ? Thanks Dick ( if you want my phone #, just ask )

Jonathon, can you run by an Autozone or Advance and get the code for the CEL ?
Might help.
Is it that the starter just seems to run longer before the engine fires, or something else ?
