Another suggestion is to just remove the round rubber bumper and replace it onto the windscreen. The bumper is just held in place with double face tape from the factory. Just pull it off and reinstall on the windscreen.

Hey guys. Just so you know there are no holes that need to be drilled for our product. We actually include 2 screws that fit into your factory holes that are already there for mounting. Simple! God Bless...

To King Penn Industries,
I went to your website and can't seem to find pictures of XF shields and what the options are. Where can I see them?

OK, we have 3 different threads going on the wind screen, hopefully this answers some of the questions with the pics.

Golfergal, the first 3 (rear view) are for you. These are looking into the rear view mirror just as you would see it driving. The first 2 are top down, last one top up.

Windscreen9, is the wind screen mounted in final configuration.

The others show the LED strip on the bottom, wires and the switch I added. The black foam strip (pulled back) I added for two reasons, one to block the light into the cockpit at night and to give the center console top something soft to hit up against.

Great pics, Scott! Thanks so much! I like the add-ons..great idea! Looks a bit chilly to be driving with your top down...but, that's what a wind screen is for, right?

Hey...thanks again! Helps me make up my mind!!

Scott, I have one more question. What option do I need to buy to have the light not go on when the roof is up? If I tie it to the car's lights, I don't want the lights on when the roof is up.

Thanks.

Option... hmm? I think Stephen sells a switch as well. I wanted something really small that I could almost hide so I purchased ($2.95) a small slider switch from Radio Shack (installed on the left side of the wires in the last PIC). I too wanted to be able to shut off the LEDS with the top up, so the switch was my method.

I could have gotten very creative and run it through a micro switch in the roof, but that wasn't worth the time and effort, I can reach over and slide the switch I figured.

Do you make house calls? How about publishing a book on wiring a wind screen? I'm happy that I can work one of about 45 remote controls I have to select from!

Golfergal, Thanks for the vote of confidence. House calls in WA, that's a bit far, you can come to CO.

If anyone needs instructions on how to wire it P.M. me. I made up instructions with diagrams. It should only take about 1/2 to do.

Scott,

Is that snow on the ground??? Will the cold weather effect the life of your top?

Snow is still on the ground, in fact had a quick 4 inches this week. My crossfire stays in the garage (heated) all winter so it has yet to see a snowflake. Even in the garage I have a dust cover over it, so my top stays looking new. I have also used 303 on it twice now, it waterproofs and as UV protection, so the top looks new (at least to me).

I bought the DC windblocker a year ago and used it all summer. It doesn't do much good with the windows down but does cut the breeze when they are up. I definitely noticed the improvement when I drove across state to Detroit a couple times (180+ miles) in 40 degree weather with the top down.

I could not bring myself to drill holes in the car and did not mount the lower guide. I only use the velcro straps and have had no problems. Use Armor-all to reduce any swirls from cleaning it, 'cause acrylic does scratch easily.

I thought it looked better than the non-OEM, even though some of those also cover the loops. It's a matter of taste.

There are actually three options. You can wire it to the brakes, use the cigar lighter with an adapter from Radio Shack or the battery pack. The easiest is the battery pack because you can leave it on at car shows etc. and not worry about running down the car battery.

I've got a battery pack if anyone is interested. I'll warn you they burn thru battery's about every 12 hours of use and it takes 12 AA'S. Would suggest hard wiring it. I don't really think a low drain LED light will drain your battery. You could also install a switch like the one I installed on FP before I sent it to him.
