Driver switch replacement
The divider switch on my 05 appears to be broken. I can put the top down with the diver in any position. I believe this leads to an 'open switch' and battery drain over time. Has any one replaced this switch ?

I do not believe an 'open switch' can cause any battery drain. Only a closed switch can allow current to flow with everything else working properly.
.
1) The divider switch and top open switch are wired in series. To enable top movement, both must be closed, this pulls the line out of the TCM to ground, indicating that the divider is up and the top is "open", that is, it is released from the windshield frame. This means your divider switch is permanently closed. (Mine was bypassed by a previous owner, I'd not worry about it if I were you - just make sure nothing is in the way of the top going down by leaving the divider up at all times.)
Do not concern yourself about battery drain:
2) The circuit involved is not powered unless the key is "on".
3) Even if the circuit is powered, the line comes off the C+ bus thru several thousand ohms, the current involved is less than 2ma (.002amp).

OK, So I had to go and look and fiddle with the switch. It is now clearly broken, the plunger has detached some now. It is stuck in the "plugger out" state or divider down. So the roof will not come down. If I cut the two wires
to the switch and connect them together this should give me a "plunger in" signal and allow the roof to drop. Any thoughts ?

Yes, connecting the 2 wires will bypass the switch and signal "top open" to the pump control module, as long as the trunk divider switch is working.
That feature can save your bacon if a door is left ajar over time.
The time out is dictated by the CLP/SSM in the trunk.
