Free healthcare? Does that come with free dental as well (contemplating getting a new set of choppers) Just don't tell me I have to give up my US citizenship! Also, how much are your taxes??? LMAO

Hey Zena 2728, welcome to the site. From one Canadian to another there is a better choice of cars south of the border. We imported ours last spring, bought it in Arizona and drove it home. They aren't that difficult to import. I would be happy to fill you in on the things I have learned about the do's and don'ts of importing and have a little car talk, drop me a PM when you are back. I am in Cambridge.

I am not bothering to argue the point. You seem quite happy with your system, but did you not have a beef it with some time back?

Yes, I have a beef. Promised (induced enlistments and reenlistments for decades) free medical and dental, all later denied all veterans in my category. Promises broken, never is a good thing. Your sounding ignorant of the way we treat and treated veterans, that's OK, That's my (and all vets) beef, and a sore spot on our system. No argument, just facts. I admit I am ignorant about the Canadian healthcare system, ergo my humorous post you replied to. Happy with the system here, NO. Have to live with it? YES. No argument, the changeover to turning 65 is much more expensive (again, promises broken). We as veterans all feel the system would rather us die than to honor the commitments given. SAD.

Agreed we pay more taxes but even the poorest of the poor gets free healthcare at all levels of illness. Sure it has faults, no dental care except for the poor, lowest income earners, welfare people etc. Drugs are free basically for the over 65s after a one time payment of a $100? or so.
Our veterans have not been cared for too well either, especially PTSD sufferers of late.
We do not have to sell our Crossfires etc when the insurance maxes out.
Not perfect but better than paying some thousands a year if your work does not have it as a perk. There are less and less of these as time goes by.

I see..... ? Seems North America et-al treats vets like snit (the combination of snow and dog snit).

The last sentence is about US jobs with healthcare as a perk, it is a bit obscure as is.
