Hi Dave, depends on the 'W/S' selector. If 'W', it is a 4 speed, if 'S' it is a 5 speed. That 'NAG-1' IS a 5 speed (and one reverse) automatic transmission! The 'W' starts the transmission in 2nd gear for traction purposes. Welcome to the site, and the best resource for your Crossfire! Peruse the site for the digital owners manual and service manual, also, check out all the tech resources. For GAWDS sake, NEVER take her to a Chrysler stealership!

On the OTHER hand, there ARE those who show up here (and more so on Facebook) who I DO tell to "take it to a dealer, leave a blank check, and wait..."

Some people are beyond help, and Iv'e learned how to discern when I am talking to one.

And 6 months later they tell you they can't fix it, come pay your bill and pick it up.

I have a fantastic small shop I take it to in Calgary, and they've done great work, at a reasonable cost ... for example, they installed my broken sensor for the softtop, for next to nothing ... I take my daily driver there too, and they've never let me down or overcharged me ... but yeah, I would not touch a dealer with a barge pole ...

I have access to two local indie shops in Holland MI and they work extensively on Mercedes (and BMW, Audi) so never a problem here. There is supposedly a third shop but I have never visited it.
