Default Convertible Top

I just finished installing Lift cylinder . My top switch is flashing with no beep. The windows go down with D handle open. Have no up or down of top. Do I need to cycle top manually a number of times to bleed and reset everything ..or am I missing something else. Top was working fine before I replaced the cylinder.

You can try re-syncing the top by putting it up and down a few times. But just know that (apparently) the hall effect sensors are touchy when it comes to putting them back in after servicing the cylinders. We had a member who went thru this and was sure he had it right -but after resetting the sensor, everything worked.

Gentlemen thanks for your interest .. I'm starting to feel a nightmare coming on ! I checked all my previous work this evening my # 11 line is on top the 12 bottom . I cycled the top manually a half dozen times and then brought the reservoir up to full. I got in the car started it up and the switch was still blinking. I shut the car off and had this brilliant idea to pull the fuse in hopes of resetting everything. I had left the key in the on position with car not running and pulled the fuse. I heard some clicking under the hood and now ...the car wont start ! Oh Lord now what ? Don't know if the top goes up or down ,but at this point I really don't care. ..HELP !

You have a gift for not being clear. I wonder what that means. I am not interested in taking the time to guess that you mean a fuse, a hydraulic line, or something else.

WHAT fuse? If you pull a fuse that takes power from the ECU, once you put the fuse back in, the throttle body will go thru it's startup sequence, which is a bit noisy and normal.

And when you say "Won't start", what do you mean? Does the starter engage and spin the engine or not?

Those were the sensors on the cylinder I was referring to .. The fuse I pulled was the white hydraulics control fuse 25 amp . When I said wont start ..nothing not even a click .. no starter engagement at all just turn the key and get nothing but dash lights

Fuse 25 has nothing to do with starting the car. I make that statement with 100% certainty.
If the car refuses to engage the starter, do this:
Turn key to "START", if the starter will not engage, let the key relax to "ON" and sit there for 45 seconds.
If the engine cooling fan warps up to high speed, the Engine Control Relay output from the RCM has failed - yank the RCM and send it to DJ in Arizona for repair.

THEN, order a new RCM from PartsGeek or whoever. Do this so you have a spare, because they fail and are SUPER EASY to replace, you can do it without tools.
I carry a spare, many of us do.

IF the fan does not warp up to high speed, we have something very odd going on here.................. I have a real problem believing that pulling fuse 25 caused the no-start.

Now, you MIGHT try something that I am sure is a waste of time, but you never know.

Turn on headlights.
Disconnect battery ground cable from battery.
Wait 15 seconds.
Reconnect battery ground cable.
Turn off headlights.

Try starting the car. I know of ONE time this worked and the car started and was fine.

That sounds interesting.. I'll try that tomorrow after church.. I did pull the RCM out and found one of the soldering had run and connected to another spot where it shouldn't have been, closing a circuit that should have been open ..cleaned it up plugged everything back in . I heard solenoids start clicking like I heard when I first had the problem. I got excited , but the car still won't start. Disconnected the battery and reset and still no start. I will try tomorrow what you have recommended and take another look at RCM.. meanwhile I will try to find a backup RCM.

I apologize for taking so long to get back here. After car issues and some personal medical issues I can finally get back to figuring out what is wrong with my convertible top . Just to let everyone know the reason the car wouldn't start was the starter was bad. It was just a coincidence that it failed when I happened to pull the fuse for the top... Back to the top . The control switch is still flashing with no beep. I have manually cycled the top a number of times and bled air from the system . Fluid in the the reservoir has been replaced. Still no power to operate top up or down . If anyone has any thoughts as to what I should check next. I'm open to suggestions ..Thanks
