Darn if I didn't start a hot thread! Nobody wants to race me into the SRT-8 vs SRT-6 thread. I win the local track here was quarter mile. It's an eighth mile track.
I've seen a Jeep SRT run a 12.94 stock... That's the quickest I've seen an 8 of any description run without mods. But like I mentioned before, I think my track is about .2 slow. My personal best was a 13.36 @105.19 on Michelin PS2 Summer Tires. The weather was terrible and the track was greasy as hell. Traction was an issue in addition to the 97 degree ambient temp outside. With a nice cool day and a sticky track, I'm fairly certain my car has a 12.99-13.0X in it with a little practice...

So the conclusion is, though the numbers are a decent start, they are not the end off be all in the comparisons of 2 cars... the only real way to have such a out come would be to have 2 stock cars basically with very similar tires and at the same track at the same time.
All i'm saying is that you have to take every single variable when comparing 2 cars. I"m not saying that does jeeps didn't run mid 12's... i'm saying that i would of loved to see a srt6 at that track on that day with that kind of track prep.

A 4 door STOCK boat M5 being compared to the supercars of the world "WEIRD"...Man I need to rethink my buying my next car.
Now about the video, let me ask you a question. Would you believe a stock m6 can run against a viper with a supercharger and keep up all the way to 196 mph? (please say no). I can show you video of this. So in other words I'm saying don't believe everything you see or hear. So now I know you're going to say well I guess I shouldn't believe the vid you posted... thats up to you. My buddies on m5 board and mbworld came down to the track one day when we had a srt8 event. The fast the m5 could muster up was 12.6 at 114. Now the fasted stock srt8 was 12.7 at 110. I can get him to vogue for this too if needed. But again, don't believe what you hear !lol. The only way this will be settled is when a srt6 runs my stock charger. End of story. So please stop internet racing. Get some of your srt6's here in ny to step up and end this whole thing. Thanks again.

Now I do agree that this forum isn't filled with drag racers as it been one of my gripes of this group as a whole. I'm sure that 90% if the people on this site haven't dyno'd or been to any track of any type. I've only had by car for 5 months, in that time I have gone down the track at 13.06 @109 mph with just a 2.0 60', with a summer tire (anything other then the old all-seasons that I have), something like a ps2 or a azenis any I know I would break 12's. I autox'd the car shortly after. I road raced at the srt nationals (though only in 1 heat). I dyno'd that at one of my cars dyno days.
I would love to run my car where ever it is you guys run your cars to net a stock time of 12.6. I can only imagine what i could net at that track. Out here in chicago i have seen plenty of srt8's run. I personally have yet to see any of the srt8's go faster then 13.3.

End of story!!! and about what you mentioned about the sc viper against the M6 to 196 and the m6 keeping up I agree on that because the viper would be missing gears and getting loose in every gear till fourth, so bye that time the m6 would already have a pretty good gap on the viper...and if thats not the case than the M6 has some mods or a nitrous shot.
Still waiting...
