Arrow "New" & like new SRT6's are Disappearing on eBay, Autotrader & Cars.com

I've been watching the SRT6 Marketplace almost every day for over 3 months, and during the past week nothing much showing up on new listings for the SRT6. They are being gobbled up at Today's prices & Deals, and not many new listings are showing up. The last Aero Blue SRT6 Roadster w/ 14 mi went yesterday for about $30,250? on eBay.
The Dealers that are holding more than one "New" SRT6, are holding their prices & I've seen some increase a little & their inventory is going down (in Fl, TX & MN, among others). The Marketplace for the SRT6, especially the Roadster, may be starting to turn around?
Any comments?

I agree I have been watching the ones here in cali, and for the most part the $ dollar sales are getting higher and less cars becoming available, I think that people are starting to wisen up and rethink what you are really getting in contrast to price...I hope that these cars climb to the value there worth and only we can do that!!! Its people that are selling these cars for price of civics that are bringing these cars to a low point and nothing in the $30,000 dollar price tag on down can even come close to comparison, people need to respect these cars and what they can do! and only than will the price of these SRT 6's go up dramatically!!! I have changed many peoples perception on this car and people are like where the hell has that car been!!! Everyone who has fallin prey to this car and has driven this car usually changes there mind on its not worth it...because it is and its up to us to make that happen!

There are still 5 on Autotrader.com with less than 500 miles for less than $24,000 however. And if you noticed the price on ones with 5-20K miles have dropped to ~ 20K dollars. There have been a few < 20K with 30k or so miles.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the last "NEW / USED" Crossfire in my inventory just sold today. $25,995 Certified, we are paying to have it driven to New York. ($300 for Drivers / Rental / Gas) They are going.

Scratch off another Aero Blue Roadster off Autotrader.com - I just purchased the one with just over 2K miles.

The dealer that has the 3K Aero Blue Roadster that is on Ebay right now would not let me purchase the car for anything under $30.5K And the dealer in Texas does not seem willing to negotiate at all!

That's a good sign for resale I guess. That is one of the reasons I bought one. I don't expect the price to shoot up but it should hold value really well once all these super cheap cars are long gone.

The low prices are a result of the influx of auction cars and corporate lease vehicles. The market was flooded with these cars. Now that inventory levels are decreasing the prices are holding and even increasing slightly. As for value, KBB and NADA still list the resale value in the 30's. When I bought mine, there were about 7 in the area, now there are only 2.

Well, I hope this is the beginning of the end for the distressed fire sales. These things should get the respect they deserve. I don't really understand it. Everyone I come across that actually knows what it is, asks how i could afford it and how much they like it and how unbelievable the performance is. I guess these people were either no it the market at the time, or couldn't afford it...

I'm really surprised at the number of people that DO know what it is. The first thing they usually say is... "is that an SRT?(Yes), I've never actually seen one in person(Really?). I love how it looks(Me too, that's one reason why I had to have it). Is it really as fast as they say?(faster). Wow, I'd love to have one for myself, Chrysler sure got it right on this one...

Or something to that effect. That was a combination of conversations I've had with total strangers...

This car WILL be a cult classic. Give it time...

I just looked on Cars.com...

There are 33within 250 miles on me and about 40% are convertibles. The cheapest one was in Allentown PA with 10,900 miles for $21,997. The same dealer also had one with 16,000 miles and certified for the same price.

However these were the exception. NONE of these had less than 2,000 miles, so it would appear the "New" are gone around here. I would also estimate the asking price averaged about $26,000 for Coupes and $29,000 for Roadsters...

There are PLENTY of them out there. The prices seem about the same, maybe a little higher than 2 months ago... The highest mileage one I saw was about 32,000 miles and they wanted about $30,000 for it.

There are 49 on Autotrader within 300 miles of me. Similar prices and mileage...

PLENTY TO BE FOUND, not rare around here, just never see them on the road...

Well I'm thinking about picking one up, there is a dealer in texas with a few for $25,999 with less that 50 miles. Is that are fair price considering the turn of events or should I try to go lower?

Hit them at $24,000 and go from there. You should be able to agree on something in between. If not, find another dealer. They have been purchased for as little as $24,000. If you can't find another one, and really want it, the car really is worth $25,999. I would pay it if no others were available in a reasonable search area. I would get more than one quote...

There is an Aero Blue Couple on Cars.com or Autotrader.com with 60 miles or so, it is a CERTIFIED car - the dealer offered it to me for 26K. That's with the 8/80 warranty.

The one I am looking at only has 40 miles on it so assume it comes with the factory warranty 36/36,000 B2B
an 7/70,000 powertrain? I'll find out tomorrow. I just submitted my offer for $24,000 via email so I'll wait and see. If it all works out I should have a new srt-6 in the garage by next week.
BTW Hello everyone, former S2000 owner and performance/Drag/auto-x enthusiast. I was looking at buying another S2k but it seems too many are out there now. The srt-6 seems a bit rare and stomps the honda performance wise. So with that wish me luck and thanks for the advice.

They may call you tomorrow, with a counter offer?
What color are you looking for, there are a few less priced ones out there?

Call them back on Friday, not tomorrow. Give them a chance to call you first. If they don't call you, then call them.

If they won't come off the $26,000 up front then it's time to play...

Negotiate something else into the deal for that price, such as free oil changes, free accessories, $1,000 Gift Card to Best Buy... Sometimes they will go that route so they look like they are still holding the money on the car. They can pay for those other freebies out of their general dealership expenses.

The other way I would approach it is as follows.

(This is Me talking to the dealer...)

"Ok, I understand that you are not willing to entertain my offer of $24,000 for the Crossfire. However, I would still like to purchase the car from you since you are convenient to me and I will have all my warranty service and maintenance done here. I have done my research and called around to dealers in other areas. I can get the car I want, just like yours, for my price at a dealer in (fill in the blank). However, that is a long way for me to travel to get the car. I'm willing to come up slightly on my offer for the convenience of doing business here. Now keeping in mind that I will continue to spend my service money here and any warranty repairs will be done here, how close to my offer can you come?"

Then shut up! Either let them answer you or tell them to call you back with an answer. Don't stay on the phone. Hang up. One of two things will happen. They will call you back with a lower number or they won't, either way you haven't lost anything.

Check out carmax.com. they have such great prices on the SRT 6's. look at this one: http://www.carmax.com/dyn/factsheet/...eet.aspx?id=42 9k miles for only$24,800?! that's a steal! and all their cars are guaranteed, and if you don't live in the area, you can pay a bit more ( no more than $800) and they ship it to a carmax near you... not a bad deal at all in my opinion...

and I don't work for carmax... just like their way of doing business.

$24,849 for one with 9k miles isn't a good deal at all. You can get a "new" for that. Now they do have one in Richmond, Va with 16k on it for $21,998. That's such a great deal, I'm sorry I spent $21,000 for mine with 14k miles and the 8 year/80,000 warranty...
