Default Just came in...

... to say hello!

I traded my 2000 SLK 230 in for a "brand new" SSB SRT-6 on Sunday the 23rd. So far I have spent some hours detailing the ride and getting it ready.

Being from Germany, a SRT-6 is even more of a curiosity here. Most people have never seen one in their whole life!

My previous cars where a couple of 4th gen Z28 Camaros and a '98 C5 Vette. After buying a 2007 300 CRD (that's a Diesel engine, very recommended when you have to pay something like $8 for a gallon). I got intrigued in the crossfire and when the SLK started showing some wear and tear I traded it in for the SRT.

Hopefully I will have lots of positive stuff to post in the future and if anybody needs parts from the german companies like vmaxx, ctd or startech I will try to help.

#40904 makes it an '04 or '05 model? Just curious...

Hi Rampage!
Welcome to the Forum & a Great Site! It is an '05, there were no SRT6s in '04. That is an early '05 #, mine is #59867, built in 04/2005, what does your build date say on the Drivers' door?

Enjoy the Ride & again Welcome aboard.

Bill (SF)

It looks like you have one of the very first SRT6s built, not sure which month they started? Anyone out there?

Please, post in the SRT6 VIN # post, we are collecting them all in a list.

Well RPM, It looks like you need to add those above to the Data Base, if they are all SRT6s?

All I track are SRT6s. Those #s are SRT6 VINs. They are in the database. I keep a huge spreadsheet with all of the VINs in it.

RPM, Sorry for the confusion, I meant the ones they just listed in the Posts above, Not your List of SRT6s Only.

SF

BTW Thanks for all your hard work, it is really appreciated!

I just came back from the local AMG certified craftshop. All I got was a WTF? face expression when I popped the hood. Those guys have never seen anything like this and very definitively dumbfounded.

The next thing that is going to happen is the "bye bye speed limiter" mod. European SRT-6s seem to be speed limited to 255 km/h (app. 160 mph) and having loads of Autobahn all around me this will have to be changed.

Anyway, tonight I had the car up to some 125ish mph as there are still less than 600 miles on the clock this had to suffice. Having bought an almost three year old vehicle as soon as the first 1k miles are over, all fluids will have to go. In this process I'll get the K&Ns mounted and have the resonator removed (the SRT is awfully quite, I mostly had Flowmasters on my former Chevys). Then it's up 200 miles to the north to my ECU geek to dig into the Computer and get me more hapees.

So far I enjoy it a lot, it is a real difference from the LS1 to the supercharger sixer but time will tell.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome and enjoy your rides - I do enjoy mine a lot!

Hiya Rampage,

Welcome to the best Crossfire forum around. Lots of great people here and
lots of really good information on these cars. BTW, not an enigma. Mine
has a build date of 07/2004 and I bought it in 10/2004. Out of curiosity,
how many miles were on the car when you picked i up?

Coyote
