the special will run through the 31st, anyone that did not get their initial order in, will have to wait another week for more to be produced.

after the 31st, the price will go up!

Let me get this straight, these spacers go between the intake and the engine block right? And the whole idea is that they insulate the intake from direct heat conduction from the engine block, thus reducing the temp of your intake.

That sounds like a good idea, but won't this also have another affect: raising the temperature of your engine block? I'm no race mechanic, but that doesn't sound like a good idea to me. So I'm curious, can someone explain?

TIA,
Tom

Tom - The intake plenums are such a small percentage of the overall metal in the heads, block, and supercharger that there is no change in overall engine temp. This might hold more true if our motors were air cooled.

Your overall description of the phenolic spacers is right on.

Since the previous post is correct, the heat dissapation from insulated contact with the SC intake plenum will not increase engine temps. I find it really hard to believe EvoSport's original claim of 100 degree drop in intake temps by installing the spacers alone...

Most of the heat soak is being generated inside the IC that is trapped between the SC and engine block... So while you are installing the spacers, insulate the bottom and sides of the IC with ThermoTec insulation.

The power of marketing..."these intake manifold spacers help reduce intake temperatures by as much as 100 deg. F"
