Thanks! i came out around 2500 rpms. I'm hitting the tree pretty decent shallow staging too(surprisingly). I was .039 first round and .028 second round. I'll probably hold a few next round in case it spins.......

Good news is I made my first 12 sec pass! 12.85@93(out of it). Bad news, I lost 4th round guy treed me with a .010 light to my horrible .081 and I broke out tying to catch him. Lol I'm very happy with the car though! Would have been in the 12.7's on my last pass.....got some money to boot as well!

You got a fast one there. 12.7 with just an intake, it's going to really like the pulley. Good job, were people shocked it was that fast?

I'm just amazingly envious of the track your running at.............not only is it near sea level but they apparently REALLY prep it. The highest I have been able to launch at here at LVMS is 1400rpm, rolling into throttle................and I STILL spin the tires. Luckily after Monday I won't have those issues any more as my traction in a box will be here and installed.

Mopar,

One thing I noticed about my car is that it shifts to 2nd as soon as it starts to spin. This really slows you down out of the hole.

I'm wondering if launching higher actually makes it shift to 2nd sooner, allowing it to hook better?

Thumbs up Re: At the track......

If you are going to drag often I would suggest getting a limited slip differential like the phantom grip so that you have both rear tires pulling together.
It takes some work but I can tell you it does help to have similar torque applied to each rear tire. I did it for autocrossing so that I can drift the car around turns.

Interesting.............I was considering throwing the car into 2nd gear at the line and stalling it at 2,000+rpms to see if that would aid in traction. My car would just spin in 1st then hook up and shift to 2nd when at/near redline.

I must say, the track prep was outstanding yesterday! It was first day of points so i knew they would have their stuff together. I was coming out hard against the converter and was not spinning the tire at all! What kind of 60fts have you guys turned? I was between 1.82 and 1.84 for three rounds. Pretty damn good!

Please someone explain to me how to get the RPM's up for launch in our cars, I'm missing something.

Simple.....left foot on brake. Right foot on gas. As you are holding the brake, press down gas pedal to desired rpm(up to max holding power). As you mash the gas, release the brake. And youre off! its called "power braking".

I had no idea our cars could do that. With our tq at that rpm I thought the SRT6 would push out.

It's like launching my old Typhoon.

Must be nice. The track out here in vegas is state-of-the-art and they RARELY ever prep the track...........unless it's for a National event. On stock tires the best I've ever done is 2.05 60' and I have video of that pass in which you can hear the tires spinning for a good 20 feet. That launch was at 1400rpms as well.

Sounds Great Man! Those 1/8's sound right on the money too. My last time out was with just the NeedsWings Intake and I ran consistant 8.4's @ 85 with 1.9 60 Foots.
