Wink Enter drydock

Hi All,
2005 SRT6 from FL. Sapphire. Shipped to Broomfield, CO. This car is my daily driver. It's still totally OEM, but let me tell you about the warranty work that had to be done.
Headlights were cloudy, so those were replaced.
SC cooling pump went out, replaced with OEM unit. Wow, expensive little bugger! What will I do when I'm out of warranty and the pump goes out again?
Paint protection strip for the ragtop was sun damaged, replaced under warranty.

Work in progress:
New tires on order. Goodyear F1 AS.
Looking for corrosion remover for aluminum. (Salt air in FL left it's mark)
Installing lighted running boards this Spring.

Later
-John

If you search this forum for IC Pump and Johnson, you will find that a Johnson CM30 pump is a nearly direct replacement for the OEM pump and will last much longer. This is a tip we found out from our brethren over at the MBForums.

I have already done this with mine and the IC pump had not yet failed. I just didn't want to be at the track when it did... .

Do some searches here, you can find answers to almost any question about the SRT6.

Welcome to the forum!!! The rest is below...

Welcome to the forum. The rub strip is a known problem that will happen again. We haven't figured out yet how to cure it. I need to have my lft. headlight looked at too. Sprint booster, computer tune and cold air intake are the most popular updates.

And if you drop your resonator you will loose some excess weight and get a GREAT sound.

Cool site Timelord,
What has been done about leaking valve covers? I'm having mine fixed under warranty, but would like what others have done to permanently fix this. I'll look for some UV protection for the rub strip.
Also, little nit, really. I scuffed the wheels on one side. New front and rear wheels are pretty costly from the dealer. Any suggestions?

Note: go topless, have way more fun!

Do everything you can under warranty while you can!
If you have a problem with warranty claim print from here and take it in.....they will back ya after reading this site

As for rims....buy them while you can afford it they have gone up by 500.00 in the last 9 months on the average!

Find someone who bought custom rims and is selling stock rims.
If thats your pleasure.

Oh yeah and TOPLESS AT 12.9 in the 1/4 ROCKS!
Oh and at 12.7 with the top up rocks.....

But guess what that don't mean **** as they say in Miami....Cause dey nockin on da 11 second door as we livenbreve

John,

Welcome to the board. Any tips on the right dealer to go to for the headlight fix? I've been to a couple, and haven't gotten anywhere.

Phil Long Jeep Chrysler in Denver replaced my headlights under warranty because they were a little cloudy.
Other dealer out in FL where I bought the car would not. Probably didn't know they could, or wouldn't bother.
I think I will get an extended warranty for this car.
