As for why I put that according to Brakeworld they are mettalic is because mettalic brake pads are know to squeek...

I got mine from Brake World and they were shrink wrapped from the factory. I am having the rotors turned friday and the pads installed. I sprayed Permatex Disc Brake Quiet on the backs of the pads to hopefully try to suppress any noise issues. I am really confused
as to why some are having problems and others are not. Also hope I'm not wasting time and money. Only thing is I had high expectations on the Rotex pads from all of the posts. The original equipment pads really perform well for me except for the dusting issue.
Lets all keep each other informed through this thread on any new findings.
I just noticed that I'm in the SRT6 section. I reviewed the other Rotex threads and for the most part they're positive and have had good results. Maybe its linked to the SRT6 having larger brakes or slotted rotors. I'll keep you posted on Rotex on my limited roadster.
This may help shed some light on the subject.

I think if you just putt putt around they might be ok, but I think alot of us drive the car for performance and they are not performance pads. This may be the diff in experiences. My intention for this thread was to let the performance oriented people know that they throw lots of dust under hard braking! It was not intended for the n/a or casual drivers. Stopping from 55mph to 0mph on your way for coffee does'nt make much heat.
I'm going to be installing Disc Italia Titanium Kevlar in the next two weeks. I'm hoping to keep the original rotors. I'll post the results.
PS - What I thought was warped rotors may turn out to be a stuck pad. The sensation was a vibration through the steering wheel and seat when the brakes were applied. Then I drove it in a heavy rain and the problem disappeared. Drove it again in dry weather and the vibration was still gone. I'll have my mechanic check the rotors but replace the pads in any case to be safe.

I purchased the Rotex Gold pads from Brakeworld several months ago and I am very happy with them. I purchased them to cut down on the dust and they did just that. The dust is considerably lighter and light colored.
I do not race the car and it is a daily driver. If you are purchasing them just to cut down on the dust, they are a great product. I also have not had any noise or vibrations from them as others may have had. I think the price is steep, but if you are very particular with the way your vehicle looks, these are a great way to go.

Last year when I ran the Dragon I had my stock pads and just from the same run when I finished my wheels were black. Several people had rotex gold pads this year and I don't think anybody had any problems. I hope you can find some good pads that work for you and let us know the next time your running your car I'd like to come down and watch some of your runs.

I bought my Rotex Golds in June 2006 (well, earlier but they were backordered until June). Andrew installed them for me. He prepared a complete tutorial on the process he follows, which includes dry lubricant and backing grease. I will not put anything else on my Crossfire. No noise, NO dust, excellent stopping power, no fade. I'm not a hard driver, but have ridden these babies hard on occassion. My main regret has been that I don't put enough miles on them to be able to replace them any time soon.
I'm expecting to buy a set for my Dodge Dakota, and my Chrysler 300m. I hate black wheels, and the only clean wheeled vehicle in the family is my Crossfire with the Rotex Golds.
Haven't checked prices lately, but this is clipped from my order confirmation - 4 wheels price:

I just received my Disc Italia Titanium Kevlar pads and new PowerDisc slotted front rotors today. XBrake drilled/slotted rear rotors on the way. I wont be putting them on for a few weeks as I am also waiting for new Goodridge SS brake lines. I'll be looking to see what the other TK user posts in the next few weeks. I'll report back when mine are on.
