Default Sc question

Please explain why we don't have a loud SC whine like cobras and the like. Even with an intake I think our SC's are quiet. What else is there to do to increase the volume?

Ben

Do a search for "Needswings Cold Air Intake".

YouTube - CLS 63 030 at Speedworld

YouTube - Crossfire vs Viper

YouTube - Chrysler Crossfire SRT/6 destroys SRT/8

I think it's louder than Cobras.

I have to say I'm partial to the top two videos. He's right though, you want some real power and supercharger whine get the needswings intake. I hadn't seen the second one before today. Will have to add that to favorites. Hey Rob how do you like that one?

Going fast is the main idea. Loud doesn't mean fast.

Is there really any audible whine that you can hear from the cockpit of a stock SRT-6?

You hear more of a "flutter" or a "whistle" when it's stock. Also, wouldn't you want less of a SC whine as to not tip off the competition.

I agree it is a real quiet s/c, but it's by design there is nothing you can do about it. Just enjoy the delivery of power

Keep in mind fellas that this system was designed by Mercedes. Your average Mercedes owner doesn't want a loud exhast note, or a noticable supercharger whine.

We have a twin screw setup which is much quieter than a "roots" type blower...read below.

That last video is excellent...good looking driver...

The Cobra's I know from Chicago SVT club have blowers you can hear from VERY far away! Some of these guys run mid 10's. Here is a look at my friend Larry's car.

Best run in full street trim 10.85@130.77
