Talking Drags-Daughter beat Dad

The family went to the drags this past Friday. I drove around our complex at 8:30 pm looking into carports for motorcycles. Why, so I could borrow a couple of helmuts. Success. Neighbor across the street had one and a guy down the street with a corvette had one.

Details. 1/8 MILE TRACK

First run..................... I got smoked by Ashley. I took the T/C off. Opps, I just spun the tiires. The announcer asked me if I let her win.........I just smiled

Second AND 4th run.................. I beat her only because the old mans reaction times were better off the line. I also have the 181 pulley on my STR.

The 4th run we switched XF's to mess with the announcer. He came over to the cars before we ran and figured out our little scheme. He was making a big deal out of the 2 SRT's and how good looking they were and a father daughter running against each other.

We had lots of fun. Even the wife watching us enjoyed our little races. I asked her if she wanted to race, but she declined.

Best times
..........................................2nd run ...............4th .......................................4th run.................................3rd run
........................... RMA'SRT ...........AMA DRIVING MY SRT ............RMA DRVG AMA's SRT.................RMA
REACTION......................... .907...................... 1.308 .......................................769........ ...........................
60 FOOT .........................2.245 ......................2.348 .........................................2.4...... ..............................2.34
TRAP MPH.................... 79..............................7 84. ........................................79.9...... ..............................84
ELAPSED TIMES ..............8.953 .................. ...9.071 ........................................9.295..... ..........................9.071

I can't wait untill the Orlando GTG. I think I might need a little more practice. Hopefully, I will have the CIA and ECU tune by July. My SRT is faster rhen Ashley's, but only by a small amount.

Sounds like a lot of fun...A family that races together - buys more mods together..

I think you need to get that lucky daughter of yours a 185mm Pulley....

Great story - Thanks for sharing

Thats neat! , but why was your et and trap mph so off!? With a 181mm pulley, you should be trapping at least 87mph. 79mph? Something is wrong there. Stock these cars trap at least 83-84mph. Hmmm.

Edit...just saw you 60's! they must not have prepped the track!! LOL still doesn't explain the low trap mphs though.

Now you know how John Force feels after the last race. Ashley beat him to.

I've got a 2nd 181 pulley sitting in a box at the office. I want to see how it is on mine first.

This was the first time I have ever done this so I would expect the times to get better.

I don't believe the track was preped. After my first pass, when I sat there spinning and fishtailing they stopped the racing for 10 or 15 min to clean the track the first 25 or 30 feet.

Also we really had no clue. Drove there and went out on the track then drove home. These are street tires and the air pressure was 36 lbs. I am sure next time it will be better.
