92 degrees and going to the track...
It's so faucking hot out right now, my car is probally gonna run like poo
Gonna have to do it like the cobra guys and pick up a bag of ice for the blower plus some dry ice in the IC tank. Hopefully that will help. I don't even feel like swapping tires out, so I'll be happy if I can break 12's on the 19's with these conditions. Wish me luck.

Yep the ice works well. I ran low 12.7's a few weekends ago when it was 92 degrees here. On the track was actually 103. I iced for about 30 mins to an hour between rounds and kept getting faster. It messed up my bracket racing but at least the heat didn't factor in as much as I thought. Have fun and be safe.

13.0@107.48 with a 1.988 60ft on 275/30/19 Sumotumo HTRZ-III was my best for the night. After Icing for an hour the funny thing is I ran my best when I hot lapped it.
The tires seemed to hook well and I am very satisified with their performance to cost ratio. I need to work on getting this car to launch harder though. I just don't have enough seat time to get the technique down. I ran 12.8@105 with the ET streets last time with a 1.9 60ft, but sadly no 12's tonight.
Only got to make three passes, two 13.0 and one 13.1. The conditions were not that great because of the heat and humidity. Most cars were running 3-4 tenths slower. I killed a GTO that ran a 14.2, a guy I know with an 04 SC cobra ran 12.8's stock, now has I/E and tune and best he got tonight was a 13.4 and a couple other 05' stangs were running slower than normal as well. I had a little pro tree grudge match with my friendsbad *** yellow 05 mustang, off the bottle. It was a good close run but he treed me by a 10th and had the better 60ft of 1.8 and ran a 12.8 to my 13.0 . The only car that ran real good was my friends 02 TT mustang GT, 11.45 on 7psi untuned
He added some fuel and pulled timing to run it safely, but when he get's it tuned for more boost it will be a beast,800whp range. We had fun, but I hate Louisiana heat/humidity.

I made my first runs last night. What a blast! My best was 13.550 @ 104.7. Not too bad for not knowing what I'm doing. It was funny too, that best run was against a guy in his dad's new corvette. It was his first night racing too. We both pulled up beyond the starting sensors! I'm glad he did too, because I would have felt like a total moron if I'd have done it alone with him waiting on me back at the start line.
I would've liked to run some more, but it started to rain. The track wasn't prepped too well to begin with, so I called it a night. There were still a bunch of people there racing in the rain though.

Are you guys having problems leaving water on the track when you launch after you use the bag of ice?
They actually kicked me off the track last night for it. Im thinkin about removing the lower splash gaurd so it wont hold the water.

My spash guard is removed. I iced mine in the pits and had a lot of water as well so I took the bag off and let it sit a few minutes and took a towel to dry as much off as I could. You are only a couple hours from me so I guess the conditions were about the same. That sucks that you couldn't get any better with the new pulley. I would like to get an N20 kit and run a small 35 dry shot just to keep the IAT's cool and the car consistant in the hot and humid months, plus the added power is a plus. It will work a lot better than ice and a lot less mess.

Any reputable track should kick you off for dripping water. It's for your own safety. Just imagine hitting some of your own water just after your launch. Kaplow!!! into the wall.
I allways put the ice bag in a big garbage bag then lay a towel on the engine then the ice bag on the towel and never even a drip!
Good idea on the garbage bag MD SRT6. BLKFIN had a bag for me to use it was a huge ziplock it worked well but eventually develped a hole in one corner.
Cruizinquick, i wonder if i WAS hitting my own water making my 60fts suck bad as they did. Id think it would go between my tires as i passed but i dunno.

Hey 240, I know this topic has been beat to death, but do you think part of your problem could be your intake is sucking in gobs of heated air? Did anybody who went with you have a Needswings intake, and if so, how did it perform? I'd be curious to see if that would make any difference on hot days.

I might build a Neeedswings style of my own, but that part by the radiator really bugs me. Hmm...

Still great 60' times . I've a 1.888 give me a 12.62 @ 110.932. The best with street tires I had was a 1.90. It's in the launch, don't give it away in the beginning. Especially with that big pulley. That thing should carry you after the 330' mark pulling real hard. Give it another shot before the weather get's bad.
Werent they saying it was suppose to be like 50 degrees or something? Man, you need to hit that track. That'll probably be the last chance you have at good temps for a while.
