How much money do you have in those tires and wheels, Rob?

Also, I would LOVE to know if a pair of those would fit in the trunk. I'm betting you could only get one in there.
I usually fit one in the trunk and one on the passenger seat in a plastic bag. Last night I was tired so I actually drove 20 miles home on the ET streets. I stayed at 55 and they were fine, even with only 18psi.

I went down to 19 psi tonight and they worked fine. No difference in 60' times, when I run at 26 psi. Track was well prepped tonight. Even forgot to air them up for the drive home.
Tom2112 make sure you have the offset figured out with spacers or the correct length lugs. Glad you got bit, welcome to the 1/4 mile club.

im shipping out a set of rims/slicks tomorrow for a customer so ill have the exact weight/dimensions to get accurate shipped quotes for you. they would roughly be in the low-mid 600 range total and ready to bolt on.

here is the trick for fitting both in the trunk....
bring a valve core removal tool with you, pull the valve core and sit on the tire (while its standing up), once the tire is flattened on the ground and also under your *** put the valve core back into the tire to hold it collapsed under vacuum. if you do this with both tires they will both fit in the trunk of a coupe with enough room for a helmet and small toolbox. there is a air compressor in the trunk floorboard that you can use to blow up the tires once you get to the track (test the air compressor first at home so you dont look silly if it doesnt work once you get to the track). bring a tire air gauge with you as well

Rob,
You gotta post a pic of the tires in the trunk, lol.

Guys another good deal from Needswings. For not having to calculate offsets and the hassle of finding the right set and winning them on ebay then to find out they don't work without spacers. All for mid 6's, can you say turnkey drag radial package. Locally my dr's were $230 ea plus tax and shipping from warehouse. I bought them online for $190 ea, plus finding a needle in a haystack set of wheels. I'm in mine over $700+ after buying everything I needed in trial and error. Don't forget the cute little mercedes emblems in the middle of the wheels, still have 2 left from the set of 4 I bought.

Another noob question:

Not a noob question. I've been running an average of 3 times a month. I've had mine since February and have about 1/8" to my wear bar. I am watching the wear closely. I would say I have about 3 or 4 more months left. As far as miles go, I have about 1000 miles on them total. Mine are Hoosiers drag radials and not for daily driving in my opinion. They veteran track guys tell me that Mickey Thompson tires generally last more than hoosiers. I will try out both before my drag racing days are done. There are also MH Racemaster check them out at http://www.dragracetires.com/. Now if your doing burnouts on the street with these softer compounds, you might as well give your wallet away.

I run Hoosier slicks on both my Cuda and my Malibu. They are THE BEST for the dragstrip. The compound that the tire is made out of is softer than a M/T tire so the traction is better for most applications. The downside is they don't last as long. I generally get a full season and more out of a set and I run almost every weekend(probably 30 weekends out of the year). They are definately not cheap though........
