Lightbulb Knock sensor monitor tool

Need more timing, or boost, this looks like a cool tuning tool if ever I've seen one.

haha, sweet, looks like fun. but for the $1000 for it, i think we would be better just recording the voltage to the factory knock sensor, or even recording the voltage to a aftermarket knock sensor(s)

I like your thinking, If you make this device cheap I would buy one, maybe install a small LCD screen on the dash to check for spikes.

Actually a better design would be a piezo pressure sensor installed in one of the spark plug ports, to get actual cylinder pressure readings while cranking the timing up or engineering different pullies for the supercharger.

knock is preignition, it's not good.
it's what happens when you put cheap gas in your tank. it destroys pistons

preignition before the ecu triggers the spark, cylinder pressures go up and pistons get smoked and connecting rods get bent!

it could be done with the zeitronix setups, check the group buy forum

I would like to see someones installation set up, I'll check the link in the Group buy forum. I would deffinatly pay $1000 for a real cylinder pressure sensor if it's available with software?

not just from cheap gas, from running lean as well. hence why we are so concerned with our afrs. run lean, pistons can melt or break ring lands. bad!

I'm not sure how well these work, but it sounds like a nice piece.

Here it is, the real tuner must have tool.
take full advantage of reading Cylinder pressure, and know where the spikes are.
