Default THE Rice UNDO

I have been sitting on these pics for awhile, ever since I saw the 100% not rice post on MBworld with the blacked out engine. I figured I am sitting around waiting for the UPS guy, I have a few, why not throw them up.

Here is my air box, and my version of the code three intake. I really wanted to know if you could feel an improvement with a code3 intake but really didn't want to spend the money to find out. Let me just say those on the fence about the code3 air intake DONT BE, not only does it sound amazing, you can for sure feel a seat of the pants difference. I know mine is a little bigger but it doesn't matter, the hole on the back of the air box is only so big.

JA - That's pretty trick! And your entire engine setup looks really clean and tidy.

Is there anyway to connect the your new rear filter so it can pull fresh air in from the window cowl? Just an off-the-wall idea.

Is there a filter element in there?

Are you sucking in hot air?

240 I was just reading your thread and thought this might be exactly what you need and what you should try. I assure you, YOU CAN FEEL A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE, your thread confused the hell out of me, (I am probably just like the rest of the members lol ) but bottom line were you getting too much air or not enough? I dont know if this would fit with your new 2.5 intakes? As far as hot air goes, I cant tell you the answer to that one, I assume but Code3 has a proven 14hp from essentially the same thing...??

And YES there is an oiled filter in there, As far as air from behind the hood, not without doing some cutting, you got the wrong guy for that job lol ITS NOT HAPPENING

That would seem to be the best, in my mind. Isn't the window cowl a high pressure area that would suck in lots of cold air?

More than half the gain (YMMV) of the other intakes for $100 doesn't seem half bad.

I am running a renntech pulley right now, looking at picking up the code3 pulley to go with it, litterally for $30 and an hour of my time, just hearing the supercharger now it was worth it....

Just for clarification my intake manifolds are 2.5" not the air intake, but i think you knew that. The intake i was running at the time of my low boost is an intake in the shape of a funnel, with screen mesh and a panty hose stretched over it. It was restricitve enought to make my car slow as ****, and put me through a bunch of headaches.

I dont think this intake at the back of the engine bay is a good idea. Essentially when dynoing with the hood open i have no doubt it will make more power. But as soon as the hood shuts its a different ball game. And the area near the back cowl is actually separated from being able to pull air from behind the cowl. Look closely when the hood shuts its completely sealed off.

Feel free to correct me if im misled.

Yeah sorry I didnt type manifolds, You are correct about the sealed off, But here is what I do not understand many test have been done on the SLR and similar C32 set ups the best and coldest place to get air is not in front of the engine but infact where our battery sits, having the air flow over from behind our hood, THE question is how do we get to that. From what I can tell, I know there is a difference taking off from first to second (of coarse when the car is still kinda cold) but none the less a gain. I will leave it on for awhile see if anything changes Im not looking to get major HP gains from the intake, Nore do I want to get rid of the engine cover. Although the black out needs wings intake looks very clean. Might be the next route.
