Default Should I change the oil?

My car is new. 91 miles today. However the wrench symbol is illuminated at startup. I assume the oil has been in the car perhaps since its build date which is may of 2005. So what do you think. Reset the FSS or change the oil and then reset. Oh, and I live in a warm climate where the year round temperature varies from 72º to 95º (normally, can get to 100)
What do you think? 0-40 or 5-40.

I would definitely change the oil. Probably original oil at least 3 or 4 years old.

Definitely chnage the oil and you can probably use the 5W-40 since your climate will always be warm. Just my two cents.

I would suggest driving the car for a few days and get about 75 - 100 miles. That should get the old stuff circulated and moving and then drain it and put in 0-40w Mobil 1.

Well that was my first thought as well. (change immediately) But oil sits on the shelf for years and doesn't go bad. The only problem I see is condensation. But it should have evaporated already. (these motors get real hot don't they) I'm leaning towards draining the old stuff but I need to order, and wait for delivery, of the proper fleece filter. I don't know if its necessary. The dealer sure as shooten didn't give a crap. What other service does the wrench imply?

I would change it ASAP. It's good insurance. Do a good detail of the paint too.

I already clayed and waxed today. Looks good too. As soon as the correct filter is located, its done.

That avatar could convince me to do anything.

The oil should be changed the first chance you get. Also, don't forget to change the wiper blades. They also are about 3 years old.

No siree... Every single auto manufacturer even with the advanced oil life monitors cars have these days recommends the oil be changed at the 1 year mark once it's in the car REGARDLESS of how many miles the Oil Change computer says you have left. Oil breaks down just like old gasoline (which turns into a varnish like material).

Treat the fluids in your car just like the food you eat. You wouldn't want me to give you a beer that's been sitting for 2 years either.

The wrench can also indicate a low or too HIGH oil level condition in addition to being time to change the oil.
