NOT another basic IC Pump question!
On the way to Seattle from Vancouver this morning, my pump failed (I can't imagine life without the supercharger).
Once I got to Seattle I immediately ordered the Johnston IC Pump from Let Motorsports and I'll take into an MB tuner shop for replacement as soon as I get the part but here is my question...
Is there any damage being incurred to the motor with the supercharger not being engaged? Is it OK to drive the car back home?

There shouldn't be any damage because the car shuts the supercharger down as to prevent damage.
It's really just a pain if you need to speed up quickly and the temps are too high....slower than a Limited

. Seriously though no damage will occur. If anything you will probably get better mileage staying out of boost perhaps?
Driving on I5 South, right after Bellingham, cruising in 5th gear I simply downshifted for a pass and noticed the power had dropped off significantly and I could not hear the supercharger. Most of all, the lack of power gave it away. The supercharger would kick in occasionally but it would come go. I assume its from the temperature decreasing and increasing.
The MB tuner shop is located in Vancouver, BC and is an authorized Renntech shop as well. They are very familiar with the SRT6 since they recognize it as reskinned SLK32. I brought over car and asked them if they could service it, and they were happy to do so. We even discussed the possibility of a failing IC Pump, only to see it happen a week later.

Thanks, still seems to be most of the 6's that sat for the 2 years. I'm at 3100 miles now, but installed the ford lighting pump around 1000 miles just because I got a sweet deal.
22,200 miles on mine and no pump failure. I do predict, however, that mine will fail at 36,001 miles.
Use the autostick to get the most out of your 6 until you can get your pump replaced.
