weird interior on '06 srt6...
I already put pics-have a look- in my '06 srt in Australia' post,
but thought I'd pose the question out here too...
anyone in any kind of xf/srt got this hole instead of a cup holder? Or is it just me?

sounds reasonable, but I wonder how many cars have it? I know that not all 06s do...
HOWEVER
I just went back to the dealer and saw ANOTHER 06!! and it also had the slot.

Are you sure?
Normally all XF (both, 218 hp + SRT6) own this cupholder. Only the basic XF (Blackline) has this hole. I'm sure for the European market.
I believe the cubby was standard only on the base model. Any Limited's or SRT's have converted either by choice or by the pure frustration of having the cupholder break repeatedly.
My and every other XF / SRT here in NZ have a storage slot - no cup holders ( thank goodness ).
My SRT is a ex Chrysler NZ show car as well - bought off Chrysler NZ after negotiation - the dealer made the enquiry for me as it was not for sale. They decided to let it go. The dealer then got a SRT coupe ( graphite ) in to sell as my roadster generated a lot of interest - the coupe got shipped to Australia for a buyer - they are that rare now new

Ya know, as stupid and overly complicated as the cupholder's design is, I must say its always worked for me.... Even if I roll my eyes every time I use it.
Consider yourself lucky. The cup-holder is useless. But I was too lazy to yank the console in order to replace it with the pocket. That would be much more useful for carrying change or a cell phone.
My cup holder works as long as your sitting still. Try to drive with liquids in a cup in the holder and it falls over. As far as late model builds perhaps not having one, my vin number is later than yours aussiedude, and I have the cup holder. Must be lacking it for another reason.
The last numbers of my VIN are 068807

My '04 has a broken cup holder, I bought it that way. That storage slot sounds like a better idea considering the location. Wish I had one.
