Here’s an idea that will save you sometime and money, buy an N/A with a stick. From there you will need the following…

SRT6 wing
SRT6 front bumper
SRT6 wheels
SRT6 badges
SRT6 seats

Mount everything up, buckle up, take off and realize a manual SRT6 doesn’t exist.

and then you can attempt to swap out the motor for the srt6 motor and fight with it trying to get everything to work reliably and then eventually take the car to the scrap yard because it is basically a destroyed tore to hell piece of crap. Then you will be in the hole by around $30,000 and have no car

Oh they get it. Two words—Focus Groups. It's a fact that people who purchase a Mercedes prefer automatics. Granted there is a small demographic that would want a manual it simply doesn't make sense for the R&D, different manufacturing processes, etc, etc just to satisfy the small percentage.

It's not always about being faster, it's about being more involved in the driving process. Switching the SRT to a manual would be extremely difficult, mostly due to the ECU wanting to see an automatic.
Here are a few simple things you can do to make your car a more "true sporting car" as you put it. This will make you more involved in the driving process:

-remove power steering (this will require MUCH more effort to steer, hence more involved in the driving process)
-Remove the headlights (this will require MUCH more effort to see at night, , hence more involved in the driving process)
-Remove the windshield (this will make it very difficult to see when you are going over 30mph, hence more involved in the driving process)
-disable the brakes (this will make it very difficult to stop and will require the driver to really have to think about how they drive the car, hence more involved in the driving process)
-remove the seats, the roof and the doors (this will make it extremely difficult to sit in the car without falling out, hence more involved in the driving process)

Please let me know if you would like any more suggestions on how to make your car a more "sporting car" under your statement of "more involved in the driving process". You can make the car as taxing to drive as you like.

Heck you can even sell the srt6 and purchase a model t ford that should fit your specifications on what a "true sporting car" is. Difficult to drive, manual transmission, extremely involved in the driving process.

BillW,

you might want to talk to HDDP. He put a srt6 engine in his 6 speed limited.
it is a race car and he doesn't car about idiot lights, but I am pretty sure he got it to work.

I bet he could tell you in detail on what it would take to do the reverse swap.

Good luck!

You forgot the SRT6 200mph speedometer.

ROFL. Model T's actually have their own class in SCCA solo 2 and road racing...look it up.

Just wanted to be sure I posted in both of your threads.....

The SRT6 does have a 6 speed trans
5 gears for going forward and 1 gear for going in reverse

5+1= 6

There ya have it .... a 6 speed
