Actual Horsepower/Torque
I know they were advertised as 330 but have also seen 349 and most recently 354. heard it was an advertising thing from chrysler/mercedes. The slk32AMG is 354, Isn't it the same engine?

Manufacturers lie about numbers to make various people happy(consumers, insurance companies, other manufacturers, etc).
Bottom line is that it's the same engine and makes the same power.............but numbers do vary slightly from engine to engine depending on how well they are put together and broken in by the owner.
The only major things I see between the Mercedes and Chrysler drivetrains are the wheels. The Xfire has 19's in the rear compared to the Mercedes 17's. That could possibly make a difference with less rotating mass.
It is absolutely the same engine; the M112, E32AMG. You can read a little more about it here:

it's my understanding that the engines are not the same, as the srt-6 has "milder" cams than the SLK 32.
I forgot where i read it, as I did a lot of research on this vehicle, and I've owned a G55 which I totaled.

Same part number = same part.
Having different parts with the same part numbers is a disaster for manufacturing. You wouldnt know what you were building.
(manufacturing quality engineers are a pain in the a$$)
All I know is mine runs great and goes like heck!
