Default boost gauge installed

everyone likes to remove the Y below the SC and drill that ,well i didn't want to do all that work so i looked over the manifolds and was going to drill and tap on the drivers side which has more room but being i had the pass. side off the car i just measured and drilled ,tapped and installed the line ,, i have not found a good place in the car for it, but may build a pod in the glove box to hold my gauges or may build a pod that fits on the dash, what ever i decied i will post pic then as of now here are the pic of the manifold drilled tapped and gauge is working great 14lbs of boost stock and 16 with the code 3 pully. jim

Not bad, I think needswings did something similar for his new manifolds. Can't wait.

A cleaner look is to put the fitting in the back of the drivers side mani, so it's not seen/ or in the way! No need to stretch it way over there?!

I did this also where I could get to it because I connect it to the dyno machine to track the boost during the run. Iam for function and looks are secondary, I drive with the hood shut anyway.

My comment is; to use a vacuum cleaner to suck the chips away from hole during the tapping and drilling operation. You can keep tramp metal from getting into the valves and cyclinder, a good thing.

My tap point is chosen for access. I measure the boost pressure at the intake manifold AND also can insert a low mass thermal probe to track the inlet air temperature at the intake manifold. I have been studying this area and hope to reduce these temperatures even more next summer.

with another tubing to connect to the gauge i can remove the manifold in 5 min. and install it on any other srt-6 just to test the boost ,, and we plan on doing that next week
randy has 181 pully and wants to know the boost ,,soon he will know. jim

Yeah, with out the stock air filters the cover can shift in hard turns, G-meter has peaked over 1.0. I autocross and its embarrising to get out and walk back to pick up pieces that fall off, for sure. THe lower grills are wire tied on the backside to keep them in if hit a cone too.

Enjoy the great weekend W DY

jim i would put some wire loom around your nylon tubing that is gong over your manifold so it wont melt it. or what i do is put my nylon tubing inside vacuum line.

I'm curious what your boost reading is, max and min.

You're stock, no intake or pulley, right?

I used Woody's pic as a guide to installing my boost line.
The stock air cleaner hits it!

I think he did that so I would have to finally get a CAI.

Thanks again Woody!

No, really!!

This supercharger is different than the roots type I am used to. Couldn't you put a "T" here and run your boost gauge?

you could drill and tap right at the end of your arrow,, i did that on the right manifold,, as those little hoses do not connect to the manifold. jim
