Oh my! I bought the Black Mamba and didn't know it!
It is a different sized pulley and they will compare them and know it's after market. You as the second owner have no knowlegde of it ever being changed.

The ASP kit does it Not use an altered sized pulley system? I know it changes a few pullies to allow for still using the stock belt, is the water pump pulley one of them?
He bought it directly from ASP, why don't you PM Abe and see what he left on the car? You also should be able to contact ASP directly. If it's still the ASP water pump pulley on the car, then your the first WP pulley failure for ASP.

Are you sure of water pump pulleys. ASP had actual crank pulley failures when the pulley first came out with out the dampner. This is the 4th version.

F1, I never did see a response to the question of 'did Abe leave the after market parts on the car?'. IF he put the factory pulleys back then no one would know the difference and your warranty would not be in jeopardy. Just a question.

I assume that an untrained eye could not see the difference in the two.
is there a big silver tube on top of the motor with our needswings logo on it or is it some big plastic covers with a chrysler logo on it?
id imagine if i were in abe scenario i would have pulled the cai and pulleys of as those could be swapped back to stock easily. the pcm flash would just stay in the car since there isnt any financial reason to revert that back to stock.

i agree no one would be able to notice the asp kit at the dealership
if it is indeed the asp kit let me know and i can try and help get a replacement pulley (abe bought the kit from asp directly way back when but i'll still help if i can)

Not exactly such a great deal considering it has been moddified (no warranty) and been beat on with 50-60 flight down the 1/4 mile.

Geez what's the odds I have a defective ASP pulley lol ... gotta love Murphys Law eh? lol
Sorry for the late response to the questions....and thanks for all the help and interest guys.
The car did indeed come with all the aftermarker mods. The car has the Needswings intake as well, you can see it plain as day with the needswings logo on it.. The dealership did not say a thing about it and I'm not worry about that because intakes are rarely warranty compromising.
The car has...
ASP Pulley Kit
ECU Re-Flash Inmotion
Needswings Intake
Resonator Delete
I tried to get the original water pump pulley but they said they need to have to send back to MB.
My hope is that they will replace the damaged waterpump and it's stock pulley without really noticing anything. Then possible NeedWings will be able to help out in getting the ASP pulley.
I guess the question is whether or not they really put two and two together and figure out why things need to be re-adjusted to make everything work properly.
It is my impression that everything will indeed fit despite the now wrong sized factory non ASP pulley. In place everything should still work except for the fact that the water pump will be working at the wrong speed. Not a problem if I can get the proper one installed when i get it back right away. Is my thinking correct on this?
Thanks again guys for the help.

That would be the best scenario, but the stock wp pulley is much larger and either won't bolt up or hit the crank pulley. Since the crank pulley is larger the distance between the two is non-existent. I would order up a wp pulley asap and have it ready for them to bolt on.

If i was given all the original parts i could have swapped them out for situations like this. However there is no factory parts that were given with the car nor do they have them.
They did say it may take time to get the pulley.. maybe if I can get a proper replacement right away I can bring it to them and just say "hey I was able to get one quicker, just use this one" and give them the ASP unit instead.

I emailed ASP on the WP pulley and this was their response.
"Not sure how a wp pulley can fail as it is steel. I would have to see it, to believe it was ours."
Lotus F1 you will have to get the pulley back and send it to them.
