Default Code3 + ASP 1/4 mile results... not so much.

Well it's pretty gruesome, but I figured I owe it to mankind to post my results one way or another. Let me just say that low-torque is amazing, and makes this thing move on the street. However, track results sucked! I will try to post up the time slips next week when I get back to work (where I left half of them... I just had to show off my disappointment to one of my coworkers: slap. I actually still can't believe it, as my trap speeds were the same as the ASP alone. :nix:

Anyway, I left the best timeslip at work, but the 2nd best run went like this:

Atco Raceway, NJ
40*F

60' - 1.862 (best of the night was 1.80!)
330' -5.293
1/8 - 8.142 @ 86.46
1000' - 10.589
1/4 - 12.669 @ 108.34 (Huge W.T.F.???)

I think my best run was a 12.60x @ 108.xx. I was getting great launches w/ 1.8xx 60's on every run, and a best of 1.80x with my cheap Firestone Fuzion street tires (I love those tires)!!! I am definitely not making the power up top, though. Once the car hits 3rd gear, it starts to taper off. I just remember waiting and waiting and waiting for the car to sift to 4th (where it would get a good jump as the RPM dropped back into the sweet spot). Finally, it would shift about two seconds before the finish line. I should be hitting 4th gear much sooner.

B.T.W. I'm not counting this pulley combination out yet. I'm going to try to set something up with TVT Design and Jerry to see if I can get this on a dyno to get the tune dialed in for this set-up. I'm hitting 22 lbs. of boost, so the mechanical potential should be there. It should at least produce the power the 185mm pulley does, as boost levels are very similar, however my MPH is way off what the 185 guys are running!:nix:

Isn't that an extremely expensive combination to just get the same boost as the 185? Why not just go with the pulley?
(Of course unless you already have a 178)

you need the supporting mods to go with that.

i feel that without alcohol injection, anything higher than 17psi is a waste of time.

what is your a/f ratio and did you update your tune for the higher boost?

your mph in the 1/8 and the 1/4 are really low. it is pulling a lot of timing to compensate for the heat the boost is making.

my let tune, I hit 4th at the line...and I did 12.6 on 94 degree day w/ bad tires....here's my run down....
reaction .3100-60ft was 1.96-1/8 ET was 8.18-1/8 mph was 87.33-1/4 ET was 12.61 and mph was 110.86
that day I was just spinning coming out, but I do think I have a few more 10th off if I run again with my new skins...I would still like more out of third, but will need to get back to the track to find out...I like my set up....and I haven't done any other mods but what is posted...

Exactly. I didn't even know the 185 existed when I bought my 178. Then the Code3 came out and I though, why not!

Thats still a lil slow IMO, but keep in mind he's running a C32 and not a lighter SRT6.

Yes, I sent the ECU to Jerry, but I think I might have been the first one he tuned for this (back in late May / early June). I think he and Brandon are still dialing this combo in. I need to get it on the dyno to have the tune perfected. I believe you are right about the timing, but as soon as I receive the Code3 intercooler core, my cooling mods will be complete. I have considered alky injection and might still go that route.

good point BlueMd...my test day at the track, before and after the tune, no C32 could stay with me, except the 1 time I went up in smoke...I tried coming out @ 2000...boiled the tires...what was left of them...

I think Mrphotoman is right on with the supporting mods idea. I went to the MIR shootout and was not running as fast as guys with smaller pulleys. My best time was a 12.48 compared to 12.27's run by people with smaller pulleys. While I believe their updated tunes played a role, I don't think I would have run much faster than them had I did had a newer tune. All that added heat is the problem when you are boosting that high.

Could it not be getting enough fuel? Anthony told me Jerry tested a 181 and the C3 together and it was running out of fuel when they tried to tune it. He is sending Jerry larger injectors. That could be the issue and it's pulling timing upstairs. Your 60's are awesome!! Just looks like it has nothing on the upper RPM range. I think this this combo is going to work out great once you figure out the minor issues. I would say get the new tune Jerry has, possible larger injectors, meth, more cooling mods.....Don't give up!!

Definitely possible; I wish I had a wideband O2 to know for sure. I still believe there is potential for this to work well, but there are only a couple of people running it, so there are still some kinks to be worked out.

B.T.W. I couldn't be happier with the way the track was prepped! You could have cut sub 2.0 60's with a tricycle Thursday night.

I hear you! I just put an A/F gauge in mine and that is definately something you probably would want to get. Maybe a boost gauge too. Good to hear the track was prepped! PM sent......

Get the tune worked out first then go with more mods if needed. It's in the tune, may be tricky for them but dyno and give them something to work with.

You need Brian Braves coolant separator mod for sure.

My manifolds would allow the engine to use the air that both pullies are making, along with revised tune.

Id also ditch the C3 intake.

Do you know how much PSI your making or you AFR? Important stuff.

Have you ever dynoed this combination? Do you have the chart? Thanks WOODY

No dyno yet, but I definitely need to so I can get a better understanding of what is happening.

I would get Jerry's updated tune. If you had the car tuned prior to September...you are leaving a little on the table. Also, I see you are running the C32. Those times are very close to the quickest C32 without N20 from what I have seen. Don't get too disappointed trying to compare your times with what you see the SRT6 guys running with the same mods~ You guys got the resale value....we get the quicker timeslips~

Really Reaching Here.....but Is It Possible You Need The Needswings New Tougher Gaskets To Better Seal Your Boost????? Just Installed Mine(i Have The Code3 Spacers) And I Definitely Have More Kick In The Pants....... I Think The Sc Does Leak At Full Throttle......

We had higher traps with just the C3 pulley on the new LET tune.

Deffinately get that retuned. We saw 110 traps! You should be in the 112-114 range.

Yeah, I feel like my trap speeds are definitely lacking (even for a heavier C32). PM sent.
