That is what I saw on drag times, hey it states no cats not secondery ones removed, you really only have front cats, that is where the o2 sensors are for and aft. I don't count the second ones hell I don't even know what pupose they serve

I'm going to even swap in the street tune and run an 11 sec pass because I hear the latest excuse is I have a "hot tune for the track only" and this is why the other tuners aren't into the 11's yet cause there being safe and thats why there tune is running low 12's just to keep it safe. So I'll do it with my safe tune also!

Neither am I. I would have to say that there isn't much of a difference though.

I am still super psyched about this company addressing our trannys. I so want that shift kit and torque converter bad. I would love to see Jeff or Rob go run a 1/4 with this installed. We might see low 11's without spray and low 10's with.

My friend owns Dr Mikes transmissions, he is a Suncoast Dealer I built my Allison there using a Suncoast 1053 converter Alto red clutches Trans-go Jr kit for the valve body and a Tranny brace and deep pan. Parts alone were $2450 (dealer cost) and that is not including the Citgo quatrasyn. Figure 2 hours to remove and 2 to reinstall, plus bench time, your at 3,000. Now add in the fact that it has a mercedes label and there you go.

You didn't even mention a price tag! That can't be a good thing! If we had the trans/converter/rear done for 1/4 mile racing, this car would easily see 11.50's all day long......IN THE HEAT!!!

Depending on how much it will cost to install the shift kit and converter, it may just stay on my wishlist and never make it over to my modlist.

Don't cancel it off your list just yet, let me talk to them further! Maybe if a few hard core folks want this we can bring the $$ down, we share the same trans with a lot of different cars( more than I thought) and there are other hard core modders out there with this trans. But this mod will not be for the faint. If the mani's were too much $ for you, skip this thread, cause it will be much more than that in labor alone! More geared for the pure drag racers who are not using their car as a daily driver.

I love the idea Jeff, but this is where I would have to draw the line. If it's for hardcore racing, I can't do it. I wan't my car to be able to be driven comfortably on the street still and not have to worry about anything else.

I don't mean you can't drive it on the street reliably, I'm saying if you don't race alot and just drive your car on the street, this ain't for you. As it will cost thousands! But from my understanding it's fine for everyday driving, but then has some nasty shift points, heavy clutches and a high stall converter suitable for drag racing.

I thought most of the prices were pretty good, Haha. I'm getting used to paying these mercedes prices. The dealership wanted to charge me $2400 just to replace my rear diff with a rebuilt one. (I found a good used unit for $850 shipped and installed myself.) $699 for a performance torque converter sounds like a steal considering tranny fluid for this trans is $18 / quart.

The cost on that site, I am assuming that was with a "core"?

I'm so broke right now I had to pinch corners just to get NW's new gaskets, LOL. But this would be something I could do around tax time. I definitely don't want my car to be highly annoying to drive on the streets even if my car isn't a daily driver. I would be willing to make a lil concessions for street to run 11's consistently at the track. So Jeff, about how much did they say he would charge to install it? If I get this done I would either want them or someone extremely highly credible to do the work. Tranny aint the part to be cutting corners on.

I haven't done business with IPT but I've already read bad things with some highly respected lxforums members. If you guys are seriously thinking about this company you may want to check this out and make sure you get what you pay for!

I just read that whole thread and WOW! I'm taking IPT off my wish list. Paying "5,585.00" and getting that headache, I might fly off the deep end. Srt6shadow, can you post builderbills website or contact info? His company seems to have a grasp on these trannies. Good luck to lou1335, if the case hasn't already been decided. He took it a whole lot more calmly than I would have.

Just wanted to reiterate I haven't done business with IPT so can't say anything myself on them and don't want to dump on anyone. But I will post a headsup regarding Lou's case.

Southern HotRod works a lot for the LX platform and some others I think. On torque converters he advocated the Pro-Torque, but not sure on the Crossfire. This is what bill posted himself on transmissions and contact info unless you PM over there:
