CRAZY to think...
most 'lightly' modded SRT-6's are faster or AS-fast as the following:(taken from google searches of car and driver and road and track; i understand other reviewers sometimes get different results....)
2008 BMW M5 =12.8
2008 Audi RS4 =13.0
Audi R8 =12.8
2008 BMW M3 =12.7
Aston martin DB9 =13.2
Aston martin V8 vantage=13.3
Porsche carrera =12.8
jaguar XKR =12.9
Mercedes SL500 =13.9
Bentley GT =12.8
porsche cayman S =13.2
Mercedes S65amg =12.6
'heavily-modded SRT-6's are close to:
Mercedes SL65 = 11.9
2001 Lamborghini diablo =12.0
please feel free to list any others i have not mentioned......
amazing that our 'affordable' sports cars run so strongly against supercars!!!!

That is pretty amazing.
We always talk of drag racing against other vehicles. I'd like to see how our cars stack up against the others listed on a road course or auto-x.
It seems to me the SRT-6 is just inherently good at drag racing because of the power to weight, when its real specialty is railing in a not so straight line.

It's a good thing these new Mustang Cobra Jet's won't be on the street, at least for a while. They are the new race ready factory hot rod. Only MD on spray would be able to hang, or maybe not. Taking the elevation into consideration they are running low 10's at MIR. This was at Pomona on Sunday hot weather.

Mopar was doing the same thing for the NHRA but rumors are they held off the project. Would be nice to see a race version of the mustang, challenger, and new camaro like the old days.

.....has not been a 'pleasant' experience. there are SO many variables, and we may have gotten over our heads. i love my fellow SRT-6 drivers, but you all want something different. it is no wonder this particular project has not had good results for any who have embarked.
if it isn't stock tips, then it's too loud, if isn't borla, then it should be magnaflow, some want ansa mufflers, some want remus, some want flowmaster some want muffler-deletes, some want 3" piping, some want 2.5." some want aluminum, some want steel, even some asked for titanium!!!! some want just axle-backs, some want headers to the bumper, some want hi-flow cats, some want straight pipes, some want resonators, some don't, some need to meet inspections, some don't have to, some want front pipes, some think they are useless, some want a true DUAL exhaust, some think it's a waste of time......
i don't want to alienate myself from the forum by saying SRT-6 enthusiasts are 'fickle,' but i will say this:
"the exhaust choice for the SRT-6 has too many variables pertaining to each drivers tastes, we probably should all just build our own according to what suits us best."
please don't think i'm irritated with all of you, i'm irritated with myself. i feel defeated. i really wanted this project to work out.
cheers.
Your first mistake was asking people what they want. Ask 10 people and you will get 10 different answers! Just pick a performance number to shoot for and make that happen. That will speak louder than everything else. The muffler since they bolt up can be to what the individual wants.
J-fire, I had a custom one built straight back true duals here is the link, https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=29634 and to be honest I think it would be too loud for most people. I like it but I made the decision to go as performance oriented as possible and was willing to take the louder exhaust note that comes with it. But as a precaution I kept my stock exhaust intact. I can always change mufflers or add resonators, but then it starts to defeat the purpose of what I originally went for.
