srt4 walk down srt6. possible?
With enough money a car can beat any other car. Who really cares what car wins this race. The joy is being able to cruise in your car and in some instances mashing the pedal to feel the acceleration!
From the factory, the new SRT Calibers are really restricted on power keeping the boost down. But when you get the software upgrade alone, they are running 12's! The stock turbo in these cars are the Stage 3 units that are upgraded in the regular SRT4's. So also adding NOS will easily run 11's. So yea, they will easily smoke stock SRT6's with a good driver.
As was mentioned you can make any car faster than another, all it takes is money! I'm not sure how much of a shot it would take for a stock one to beat an SRT6, but I'm guessing if its 50 or less you should be OK as long as he doesn't have a handful of other mods... run him from a dead stop.
wow, I hate to say it kid, but racing is racing. Go to the track and race the guy. If he wins, then tell him you will run him again, no nox...but it really doesn't matter when its not apples to apples. Its just braggin' rights. You still have a nice car that is fast stock. Oh, and believe me...cops don't troll the web looking for speeders...maybe child sex offenders, but not speeders...that was funny...good luck kid...

If these cars are raced at the track, compare timeslips and there you go.
The SRT-4 Caliber is nothing more than a polished turd. I don't care how fast they are they still have the worst interior materials and fit/ finish of anything this side of 1995. Not sure this comment contributes to the thread, but it had to be said.

As for a Dodge Caliber, they are not the fastest thing on the road. I would say if your srt6 was stock it would be close. if you had an intake and pulley then no i doubt it.
Who cares though, just go race him. If you win you win, if you lose you lose. It really is not a big deal, it is not like it will end the world as we know it if a race is lost. Racing is about having fun, I never did understand why people make who will win race threads and worry about if they will lose a race or not, lol.
What are his times at the dragstrip and what are your times at the dragstrip? Who ever has the fastest time will win, it is pretty simple to figure out.
Edit: Forgot to mention, dodge calibers are so hideous it is not even funny. I can not believe anyone bought one of those warts let alone modded it lol.

WARTS..........HAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA
Oh man, is it necessary to be mean to Caliber SRT owners? Lets face it, it's a young persons car. Where's the respect? Drive and let drive. However, I doubt a race would be close even with a shot of nitrous. A stock Caliber SRT runs 14.3 or slower which isn't slow but nowhere near what a SRT-6 runs. Just my opinion, for what its worth.

Those calibers can be deadly.

The the caliber platform is a strong one. Its just as potent as the SRT-6, considering the platform, I would have to say even more so.

The point is, you can not compare apples to oranges or bananas to cups of coffee or a modded car to a stock car and so on. It is just silly, just like this thread is.
If someone wants to know if one car can beat another then simply go to the track and race. Why create a silly who will win thread when no one posting in the thread knows what mods each car has, what the skills of each driver is, what condition of the cars are in, what tires they are running, if one has weight reduction and the other does not, if one has mechanical issues and the other does not and so on. There are too many variables and it is again, just silly.
He later stated that they both race at the track so why did he not simply look at the timeslips of each car? That again would have answered his question.
Everyone has been stating good points. The facts are facts and stock for stock the six will kick it's butt. When modding gets into the equation, the gloves come off and it comes down to who has the most money. Just with simple mods such as with our SIX, great gains are had. So we'll just keep it at that. All I know is I'd rather be driving an SRT6 instead of any SRT4 just because of the engineering behind it and how rare they are. And boy these 6's are awesome looking machines!
mrphotoman you don't understand this thread. The srt6 is bone stock. The srt4 has a unknown shot of n20. The question was what size shot would the srt4 need to walk down the 6. Also we can't compare time slips because the srt4 kid is to much of a chicken to race his car and the kid with the car does no live near me. The thread is just to see what people say about the cars.
Smart cars walk Ferrari's too! I gotta get one of those rockets!

"What if" and/or "who will win" threads are silly. If someone is so scared to race another car to the point that they need to create a who will win thread because they are intimidated by anothers "sh*t talking" and their fear of the possibility to lose a race then they should not race their car.
Chances are that he does not even have nitrous if he will not go to the track. 99% of sh*t talkers in my experience are just that, sh*t talkers and they usually have a stock slow car. It is funny how a few posts back you said both cars DO go to the track.

Stock for stock they aren't as far apart as you might think. Remember the Caliber is FWD and has trouble with traction off the line. If it could pull a 1.8 60 ft stock, it would be much easier to get a low 13 at 102ish. Neon SRT-4's with slicks (aka traction) pull low 13's.
They take to mods like crazy, just like any other turbo car. ESPECIALLY spray.
Here is one with only a 50 shot (maybe a drop in filter) staying side-by-side with a well modded SRT-4 Neon.
It would do quite well against a bone stock SRT-6. From a roll they'd probably put 1/2 car or more on it.

From a dig, obviously, it would be advantage Rear Wheel Drive.
Man, what a terrible post. The price point is on par with a Porsche, but it sure as hell isn't a Porsche. Neons and Calibers are at 20-25K price points, but compete performance wise with cars twice the price, just like our SRT-6's go out there and drag some very expensive cars.
YOU are the reason why people buy FWD SRT-4's and go mod them. To wipe the smug look off of "more sophisticated" owner's faces.
The Ego some of you guys have is completely laughable.

Since the bottom of the market fell out and all the people that have wouldn't know class if it bit them on the tucus have bought them and have the gawl to compare them to cars such as the "tin can Dodge Caliber".
It is so sad to see the car ONLY compared in quarter mile times against hondas and the likes. This car was intended to compete with Porches and the likes, NOT RICE BURNING STREET RACERS!
Let the "Ricers" and the "Neon Ground Effects Lovers" grow up, if you have patience they in time will catch up to your Crossfires.

There are owners with "ricer" mentalities at every price point.
