All i will have is my custom intake and this TC on by march when the track re-opens so i'm curious what that will do to my previous best at stock 13.1 @107. I could even keep the stock intake on and do a few runs with just the TC to measure the improvments there. then put my intake on .

How do you install a TC? Sound quite advanced.

Basically you need to remove the tranny. Unbolt stock converter from flywheel, unbolt tranny from motor, after disconnecting electrical.

I really would love to jump on this right now, but after LET's pullies falling apart I want to make sure their QC is tight on this one. I'd rather only pull the tranny once and not risk any damage.

Price isn't bad at entry 999.00. I would like to know which shop is building the converter, if it was Suncoast converters or ATS, I wouldn't have any hesitation.

I agree totaly. I will definitely be keeping my eye out on its progress tho. If it performs like I think it should and theres no widespread problems, I will be all over this mod. I'm glad LET stepped up and made this mod. There should be a ton of 11 second SRT6's running around all year and not just in the spring and fall.

Wow.

So a pulley, tune, intake, intake manifolds, slicks/DR's, HSTC and a 35 shot...you guys think that's an easy high 10 second pass?

Probably going to need a bigger shot than that. MD was 150 plus to get 10.70. Here's my theory on HTC for the 1/4 mile. Usually the bracket guys have a 5000 stall converter for the great 60' time. There are guys cutting 1.5's and 1.6's but only running low to mid 12's. The launch is awesome with some almost getting the tires off the ground, but once they pass the 1/8 mile the cars just nose over. It's also gearing as well. It will be interesting to say the least to see how the overall gearing is affected and what point on the track the car shifts. As it is 1st gear dissappears pretty quick and most of them can run through the quarter in 3rd gear. If 4th shifts even quicker, there will have to be some track datalogging to customize a map for the 3rd and 4th gear shift. Otherwise the result will be the same nosing over effect.

According to the thread, Jerry says the following:

"The mind-blowing thing about this mod is the midrange kick....60-130 times dropped almost a full second !!!"

Should be interesting.

Maybe a 35 shot is too small, but I don't think we'll need the 150/175 shot MD was using to get into the 10's.

Anybody seen the stall speed announced yet? Hopefully it isn't too high, even another 5-700 over stock would help, but I'd be concerned for the road manners and added heat. Looks like a trans cooler might be a requirement too

That was in an E55. After making a few passes in a modded one, they really don't open up until the range anyway. I powerbraked and raised the stall when I launched in the E55, but my fast lightning buddy chiromikey launches off idle. The biggest pull I felt was once over 80mph, that's almost 3/4 of the track for us.

Also remember a 70 degree day at Atco or MIR is still way better DA than most of will see in our life. 4 tenths of a second decrease from a stock baseline is still stretching it, but is possible. Some mods did that from a stock baseline. Intake, tune to name a few. Now when your talking your at 12.1 and knocking 4 tenths down to a 11.7 just from stall converter? That remains to be seen. From my experience from 12.0's it comes to a crawl getting into the 11's. I would say a race only exhaust would yield equal results. Again I do think 60's will be smashed, but not without DR's. I wouldn't waste money on street DR's if your doing a stall. Hoosier or Mickey is a must at the track, unless your doing stoplight to stoplight action.
Still a +1 for getting this mod to market.

Good product LET! Look forward to specs and times dropping! This should gain .2 -.3 easy if not more... that's what the 8's are picking up with a tc upgrade. I'm guessing the stall is going to be somewhere around 2800 maybe? Also, that price is outright with no core charge, correct? Thanks!

I think I see drive shaft problems in the future!

Might be a good idea to go to one piece.

yes that would be a nice addition as well. I thought Squierlcrusher was gonna drop his car off at the Driveshaft Shop? If this HSTC is as good as they say it is, along with a lightweight driveshaft mid 11's should be the norm.

Do the NA cars use the same torque converter as the SRTs?
