SRT-6 Manual Transmission?
So I'm trying to find out if anyone tried to put the 6spd in an SRT-6?
Either using the 6spd out of the standerd Crossfire or doing some custom work?
I talked to the guys at RENNtech and they want $20,000 to put a 6spd
in an SRT-6!?!?!?
I know i'm not the only one that thought of this or wants to do this?!?!
I'm sure it's much more involved then swapping in the 6spd in from
a standerd Crossfire with clutch pedal assembly. Will the manual tranny from a Crossfire take the hp?
Is it a clutch issue? Is it not a strong enough clutch? Is there a stronger Mercedes
6spd/ clutch that would swap in?
Is it just a waste of money? But honestly, why make an SRT-6 with out a
6spd?????
Any thoughts?

Not Chrysler.. but AMG.. blame them..!!
BTW.. show me an AMG car with a Manual transmission.. (there must be a reason why they do not make them?)
I like going to open track days, and that would be more fun with a manual. Once you learn a track, you know what gears to be in and when. Maybe I should get one to gut out and make a race car out of? And leave one that my GF can borrow. LoL

Save your money and invest about 400 Euro in the following:
VAETH -a well known Mercedes Benz Tuner - made a spezial software for the crossfire SRT6 automatic gearbox.
If you use the hand-switch-mode of the automatic transmission, you have the following advantages:
- Automatic gearbox switches immediately without delay
- Automatic transmission switches to a very wide speed range
- Consumption is reduced. You can drive with very low engine speeds.
-The transmission does not switch automatically to the next higher gear.
- The automatic transmission only switches back when the engine speed falls below 1000 rpm
The new gearbox software is much better as the useless series software.

It's becausen of the market, the folks that can afford an amg don't want a manual (read older crowd). Same is true of the vette, until they came out with the zo6 it wassn't easy to find a manual tranny.

I think the Mercedes manual trannys just don't hold up to the AMG power as well as the automatics do.

Just read this thread.....

It was a member who converted his 6-speed limited to a SRT engine. Many problems to overcome.....long story short.....deal with the autostick!

From what I been told you can put a MB M112 (C240,C230,C320, etc) manual tranny onto the C32 motor. I would assume the bell housing unit is the same on the C32 and the srt-6.. Some people have said the mercedes tranny isnt strong but I disagree. I have never seen one not be able to hold the power.

If memory serves, I don't think he ever really got the whole thing sorted out, because not long after that project he bought a real race car, and hasn't been back here since 2009.

The Vaeth version was - let's say - not working in every car.
If you want a solution that really works, contact Evotech Motorsports.
They've done an adaption of the 32 AMG M Mode.
This modification was done to different SRT's over here in germany and it works perfect.

And concerning the manual tranny. There's no MB manual tranny that can handle the torque of the SRT6. There are trannys for Diesel versions. But as far as i know they won't fit. And if you find a mechanical solutions, you'll also have to handle a lot of electronic items.
