Default Datalogging IAT temps and C6 encounter

Ok I went out and played with the computer some more and I seem to have stuck my foot in my mouth with a previous statement in another thread.

Ambient temp was 55-60 F. Under 90mph WOT my IAT's were like I said in the low 100's , but I found out tonight I was around 150 anything over 90mph WOT. I ran it up to 140mph on one run and peaked 153 , it took only a couple seconds to drop back below 100 after I let off and soon dropped to a cruising temp of 75 on the hwy. So I guess I was a bit wrong on my statement before because previously I had only tested to 90mph on the street.

I neeed to get a serial to usb so I can datalog my new wideband. Just eyeballing it I am running 11.0 then it ramps up to 12.0-12.2 at 80 mph and stays there. So I think I have the fuel for the Code 3 pulley mid pulley(on order), but the IATs might not be so good like I feared. Guess I need to work on getting my N20 setup or just race 1/8 mile. All this really has me thinking our superchargers are pretty much maxed from the factory and not very efficient nor the intercooler.

So sorry if I mislead anyone before. Regardless the car still pulls like a beast, enough to edge out a brand new C6 from a roll. We stopped at a gas station and talked for a minute after wards. He was pretty surprised. Nice older guy with a nice ride.

Stay with the 1/4, in eliminations or qualifying you dont run back to back anyways. You want quality runs not quantity.

I just looked up the stats on the new 09 LS3 Vette and they are rated at 430, so I fell pretty good about the outcome. I thought it was a Z06 at first and he hit it in the wrong gear, because of the badge on the fender, but it said Ls3 instead of Zo6. Almost fooled me. Looked something like this.

compared to the real Z06

This is exactly what I have seen on my dataloggs. The faster you drive, the more IATs climb. 150F is not that bad for a higher speed run. Without your advanced cooling it would be even higher...

Thanks for the test run. 153 is excellent for that speed , considering I reached those temps around 80-90 MPH. The 1/8th track is good for practicing launch techniques, collecting baselines with each mod you add and the oooooo’s/ awwww’s when you make a 7.8 pass. Which is my PB but I like to post ava runs. Running stacked pulley’s will defiantly increases those temps! Nice kill on the C6 .

Based on the above if you want to run both pulleys the next step to address the high IAT's would be a water/methanol kit, you will be pushing the supercharger closer to the limit and this will probably be the only choice to combat the heat, other then NO2

the code3 mid sized pulley with my 178 should be equal to the 181 boost level. Meth would be nice but nothing cools iats better than N20 and I already have a kit. I wanna see what kind of numbers I log with the code3 then maybe bump the fuel pressure up and spray a small 25-35 dry shot.

Talking Re: Datalogging IAT temps and C6 encounter

I dont have time to wax on and on but code 3 plus a 178 is WAY BIGGER than a 181. ITs beyond the 185 and then some. I tried it , remember that the ratios are like 155 / 72 stock, and 178 / 72 and then stacked 178 / 62 which is almost 3 to one. I was spiking 25 PSI before the belt began to really lose traction. You are not going to run stacked at sea-level without going ga ga on the boost and leaning out major big time. The boost of 25 is beyond street use IMO. Iam having issues with 1 - 2 gear now on a 178 in cooler 45 degree weather with street tires.

I guess I need to clarify. I have the new Code3 MID-sized pulley , that they just released, on order. Supposedly tested without a tune but better with. Hopefully I will have it by next weekend. Brandon is supposed to let me know by tomorrow. Also getting the belt wrap kit and the Gator back belt, which he said was required for this setup.

Code3 now has a larger SC pulley for use with the 178 crank pulley. They don't list the diameter of the new pulley, which would be nice, just the gains it produced above just the 178 alone.

It is listed under their C32 section, although they mention it in the SRT6 section under the current SC pulley.

SRTpowa, did Brandon happen to mention when the belt wrap kit will be listed on their site?

He said it should be up by next week. I placed my order via paypal after speaking with him through email.

Right thats what i suspected. Anything over 20psi makes little or no more power other than the intial boost off the line because of all that added heat. If only we had a little more room to place a larger twin screw inbetween these manifolds.
